^ The patches they show for colour comparison appear to be standard protected leather (not semi-aniline) and quality can vary hugely. If it were me, I'd ask them to mail a small sample so you can not only appraise the colour, but the finish, suppleness and overall feel. Cheap hides have a thick coating and are stamped to imitate grain and IMHO are not a great option.

This website sell covers for lots of brands.
Why not Find a well respected vehicle trimmer in your area and ask them about this brand. There will be others who have been down this path and a reputable trimmer will advise, just as they would for fabric hood replacement. Certainly these will look best if fitted by skilled hands.
Search the R170 forum, as another member fitted some like this but I do not recall if they were the same.
When doing covers always worth considering new foam pads too. Better than being disappointed later.

And they protect the leather from UV and scuffs.

My car has two tone seats. Managed to find some cheap foam backed factory covers on Amazon that very closely match the factory pattern/colors. Most people have no idea the seats are covered until the get inside. I figured for under $30 US they wouldn't hold up long but I ran them for at least 3 years before I even bothered to wash them, and then they wound up looking like new. Bad thing is, they work so well I forget to remove them to condition the leather. So right now the driver's seat is getting multiple coats of conditioner so I won't feel so bad about covering it up again. Don't let those comfy sheepskins make you forget the leather underneath.

Ordered a seat upholstery set from Lseat today, black on black no extras $299. Would have been dinged another $39 for perforated, but passed on that as all my tears start and end at perforation holes. Was dinged $29 for S/H by Fedex. While they have a place for a coupon code, was not able to find one. They take CC no PayPal. Will report on what arrives when it arrives . . .

The new seat upholstery arrived in a large rectangular box about four inches thick with a silver dollar size hole punched through the face, no damage to contents, thanks Fedex Ground. Today I opened the box to start the install and was surprised to find them perforated which is kind of a $39 upgrade over the non-perforated I ordered and the black leather has RED stitching all around instead of the Black stitching I ordered. There is nothing red in the car for this to go with.

Sent them an email using their contact form with a copy of my order and what came in the box, will report whatever they say.

Two emails using their contact form, no reply. Either they don't respond to their emails or don't respond to emails regarding fixing their mistakes when they have a different form for that purpose. To use it, had to create an account, not necessary to order. Sent them:

Return Reason: Received Wrong Product
Return Action: Replacement
Your Comments: Ordered for black 2002 slk320 leather upholstery non perforated received perforated (that I could have lived with) ordered Black Stitching L001 received RED Stitching that I can't stand and would make me feel cheated every time I got in the car, I can not understand how such a clearly marked order could be double messed up. I want a no charge FedEx Ground Pickup sent to my house, a RTV shipping label to print or mailed to stick on the box, I want what I ordered shipped to me with no additional charges.

Your Return Request Contains the Following Items...
Return Items Qty
1998-2004 Mercedes-Benz SLK Custom Real Leather Seat Covers (Front) 1

Have the feeling they sent me something they already had without even bothering to check inside the bag, otherwise someone who wanted red stitching is wondering why they got black. ;-) Will report on whatever they choose to do . . .

Quick Poll Need Your Opinion

To sum up the thread, for my black interior and exterior 2002 SLK320 I ordered from LSeat.com a set of Charcoal non-perforated seat replacement upholstery with black stitching in other words all black. $299 + $39 S&H

What I got was Charcoal with perforations ($39 value) which I could have lived with, but they also came with RED stitching. Only the stitching is RED not the trim or welting or inserts.

Today they replied to me, calling it a shipping error despite the claim of made to order . . . here's what they said.

"We do a apologize for our packing mistake. We will exchange correct order for you. However. If you thought it was not serious problem. We will offer you $100 discount. Let me know if it’s work."

What would you do? Take the $100 which is like $139 off with the perforations or insist on pure black as ordered?

I'd like to think they would pay seeing as how it is totally their mistake, likely the reason for their rather generous offer. Color of the thread is pretty much the same as the Reply to Thread bar above as I write this, would look good in your toy. Suppose if it really started to bug me I could take a Sharpie and color the stitching black every couple of months.
