jet_fl Add a +1 to the list! I just picked up a 2006 Kleeman S8 car with 13k miles on it!

TapiocaSquare I actually went with a Circle D specialized torque converter. I was running pretty good until i had a hiccup in the trans. Tore it apart and found the clutches burned. I already orderded the new clutches waiting for it to arrive. I also took the torque converter back for them to inspect. They said it pretty much look good. Since its open up i had them replace the clutches and bearing. I will pick it up next week. If i have time i will try to have the transmission back together and on the road again next week. Ill keep u all up dated.

Please say you went with a Weisstech 722.9 torque converter with the higher stall speed.

I cant wait to hear how that piece is working out.

TapiocaSquare i have not tried manual mode. i only tried C and S mode and it seems to be fine for me. i rebuild my tranny. but when i tore it apart it looked pretty good for 70K miles. but i still replaced with the updated Pump, replaced all the pistons, seals, o rings, clutches and all bolts.

Thomas Nelson Thanks for keeping us up to date - a fascinating project to view from afar .... and a prolonged & winding journey for you from the sounds of it!

Our slow-to-respond 722.9 transmission is certainly less than optimal when in manual mode. Further, is it even stout enough for your beastly engine? What do you have planned for yours?

TapiocaSquare I removed my transmission a couple of days ago. I took the torque converter to a shop here locally to get rebuild. I am rebuilding my transmission at my friends shop. ill keep u all updated.

TapiocaSquare Ok i understand your point now. I’m happy that I’m almost done with this project so i can move onto another project. Just have the suspension and tranny rebuild to do.

I just meant when you say you have the m113k and show the pic, I am inclined to believe it. The other guys pic didn't look like the m113k and wasn't running m113k boost, so wasn't as believable.

TapiocaSquare at this run the car made 468Whp and 551wtq SAE. Tune by jerry at Eurocharged. but its not done yet. so far for the most part the car feels perfect. but i feel its a little rich on top end. Jerry will be tuning it again next week. so will keep you guys up dated. every day driving is fine. cant even tell any difference until you give her gas, and she will respond instantly

Gerry at Eurocharged came over and did the map for it.
No 0-60 times, no 1/4 mile times. I have seen 180mph in Germany and it was still pulling.
If I can see how to reduce photo file sizes I will add a couple of photos!
the old and new pics of my car were also at Jerry Eurocharged. the new pics were taken inside his new dyno room.

The SL55 stock runs at 0.8bar and dynos at around 410whp. Using a reasonable conversion you can say that if 1.8bar = 410whp, then 1.5bar = 342whp. Add another 50bhp for the cams & exhaust upgrades (per Kleemann) which is maybe 40whp and you're still barely over 380whp. Changing the timing and leaning out the mixture a bit is not going to get you much ... almost definitely you would still be under 400whp.

I also have still never seen an SLK55 run with the m113k engine, due to electronics issues, although perhaps it's possible. With all the time & money that it would take to make it possible (many others have tried, sunk tons of money, and given up), then you would just run 0.5 bar on that engine???

It sounds like it's time to raise the flag:
Its not bs at all yes i have spent over 20k in parts and labor for the past 5 years from trial and errors. but it is done now. i have videos to prove it. have made 472Whp and 551Wtq. if someone knows how to upload my video please do so.
