Athens to Pylos (Navarino)

One thing I love in this country is that since I first came here years ago, the weather is always right for any kind of trip.
So after getting back the 350, time for me to enjoy once again the sun and the sea.

This is goig to be a short one, just 3 hours drive from Athens to the Peloponese Peninslula.
Pylos has a long history, having been inhabited since Neolithic times. It was a significant kingdom in Mycenaean Greece, with remains of the so-called "Palace of Nestor" excavated nearby, named after Nestor, the king of Pylos in Homer's Iliad.
Later it was renamed Navarino and was used as a naval base, either for piratical raids or for major fleet operations in the Ionian and Adriatic seas.

The western end of Greek National Road 82 (which I will follow) begins in downtown Pylos. The highway runs west to east and links Pylos with Kalamata and Sparta. The area enjoys a favorable climate, with especially mild winters.

So here we go, once again.

Oh.... the roadster problems. Space. You can never have enough!

Im mostly oh with it, but SHE once again complained about it.
Well, such is life....

Ha. If I only had a cent each time I have a problem I would be a rich man.
The roof will not close.
Hahahaha.
It's just my luck.
The trunk opens and then nothing happens.
Did the search, I dont think I can do the procedure myself and besides, no way to lift the rear windows.
I will let the car rest for a while, have a swim and if it doesnt heal itself then tonight I am going back home. With the roof down.
Looks like fun.
Temp will be 22 C so I will also check that airscarf thing also.
This will probably be the longest roof down trip ever.
Untill then....

Lets enjoy the sun....

I believe in holistic treatment.
So curing myself results to cure the car.

What I needed was a coffee shot.
Drank the coffee felt better. The car felt that I was feeling better, so it also felt better and the roof closed.
Once again the Hitchhikers Guide to the galaxy rules helped me overcome this.
Rule no2 "don't panic".

P.S for those not familiar with the "rules":
1 always carry a towel
2 dont panic
3 two heads arent necessarily better than one
4 improbable doesnt mean impossible
5 just when you think life cant get any worse it suddenly does
6 there are few thing in the universe worse than bad poetry
7 there are few things in the universe better than a solid cup if tea
8 if youre unsatisfied with your life just be glad youre not an elevator
9 its the questions not the answers that trully matter
10 It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

And......
yep! Thats good old Charlie showing off to the girls at the beach.

It was fun, until the wife decided I had enough and started waving at me to get out.
And right after I got out, full of pride and confidence, she made clear to everyone that she "will not be rubbing me with voltaren gel all night long just because Im trying to behave like a teenager".
Oh the embarassement......
(Actually SHE DID)
