Deare All,

I need your help! Recently my SLK320 2001 automatic transmission turn to "emergency mode". My mechanic asked for another TCU, he said that mine had burned out.
I bought a used one in perfect conditions e and after replace the old one, the transmission didn't work properly.
He said me that even new parts needs a code related to the car vin number.
Anyone knows if it's correct? If YES where could I have that code?

Thanks!

Not knowing what country you are in presents a little of a challenge, but here is M-B's US policy and documentation on Theft Relevant Parts.

http://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/doclist.jsp

(If the link doesn't work just chose it from the menu on the left of www.STARTekInfo.com.)

If you know someone with STAR Diagnostic they may be able to program it for you, but to be honest I really don't know for sure. IIRC the policy says you have to order such parts from the dealer.
