New member w/ a question

Hi all. Would like to start by thanking this forum for fixing (so far) the issue with my car randomly not starting(k40 solders). I wouldve never found that.
Now i have a P0108 fault, along with others & my car is due emissions test this month. I found the MAP sensor but there is no hose going to the fitting on it. I looked & cant find a loose hose or another open port. Any idea where the hose is tapped off of for the MAP?
04 SLK 230.
Thanks!

Someone may correct me.. I do not believe these cars use a MAP sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure). They instead us a MAF (mass air flow)

Can you show us a picture of the item you found that doesn't have the hose going to it?

Correct! MAP sensor only fitted on the 32amg. This one should have a MAF. Probably just a typo.

I am still curious what sensor he found that is requiring a hose.. sounds like he DID find a MAP... but it isn't receiving any vacuum?

Why did the 32 receive a MAP and not a MAF?

It does have a MAF but also seems to have a MAP. That's what's flagging in my fault code. The MAP has an electric contact to it but the air port isnt connected. I'll try to get a picture here soon.
Thanks

It is the pre 2000 cars that use MAF only. Does it look like this?

Have a read of this thread off mb world. It appears the "disconnected MAP" is measuring barometric pressure so probably not the MAP.

That looks to be the same as the mb world thread I posted above. Have a read through as it describes the MAP sensor being fitted to the throttle body and the sensor you are looking at as the barometric sensor which is open ended.
