Hey everyone, got a weird issue with my 06 SLK. Sometimes when starting in the morning, none of my electronics is working. The car starts and runs just fine, but I have all kinds of problems, no windows, no esp, no air, top won't go down, srs not working, seems ALL my electronics aren't working. Now, sometimes I will go back and restart it a few hours later and everything is fine. I got no codes when plugging in my tester. Have heard a low battery could cause this and someone said that the key fob may need batteries. I have new batteries in that but have not changed my car battery. Any ideas?????

Yes
Change your car battery
SLKs love great batteries
not great batteries cause electronic issues of which you are experiencing many

how old is the battery? get it tested or get a new one

Yep sounds like a battery problem to me. I know it's not an SLK, but my dad had the same issues with his Smart car for a while and it turned out to be the battery not being able to handle the strain it was under long term. Since Smart is owned by MB I don't doubt they can have similar problems.

Not had the problem but I read most threads on here.

The number of times the battery gets mentioned as the first thing to fix is high.

The number of times folk try everything else first and then finally the battery is pretty high.

Yet so often it is the battery.

Go for that first.

If you don't know how old it is try this vid:

Hi and welcome to SLKWorld.com from the UK Midlands - Thanks for joining us! :)

+1 for checking the battery. As has already been said, these SLKs need a GREAT battery, not just a good one. My battery got low once, due to lack of use, then short journeys and raising/lowering the top a lot. I didn't get the number of errors you've seen, but I did get an ESP error that went away once the battery was fully charged again.
