Historical footage and commentary of Rallying in the 1970's.
Rallying in the 1970’s is the title of this ~78 minute film, which mixes period color race footage shot inside and out of cars as diverse as V4 Saabs, Mk1 and Mk2 Escorts, Alpine A110′s, Lancia Fulvias and Stratoses (Stratos? Strati?), 240Z’s, Big Healeys, Abarth 124 Spiders and Mirafioris, Triumphs, Peugeots, Minis, Mitsubishis, Wartburgs and more. Venues include Monte Carlo, East Africa and Acropolis, among others, while narration is well-informed, interesting and interspersed with nice long stretches of mechanical music from the widely varied cars. We learned more than we expected about one of the most exciting eras in rally racing, but are only left wanting a Alitalia livery Stratos more than ever.
