Mustang Chssis Dyno Accuracy

What is everyone's (anyone's) experience with Mustang chassis dynos?

Are they accurate? If not how out are they?

Mustang dyno's tend to be a little pessimistic, but some claim "more accurate". Dyno Jet's are known to be a little more optimistic therefore people like them better.

I met with the Mustang design engineers at their HQ near Cleveland OH in 2007. They were very professional and definately knew what they were doing. I've not personally used their machines, but the engineering in their dynamometers is comparable with others that I've used professionally. I would have no problem believing the results from a Mustang chassis dyno.

One of the local clubs arranged for a dyno event at a local and very reputable tuner.

We had about 10 cars, including some experienced road racers show up. I had my AMG.

I couldn't believe what my SLK was putting down! One of the guys said he thought the dyno was reading high as well.

What was it showing? Do you have pix of the graph?

I was waiting for a few responses to come in before I posted results. Now let's see what comments we get from the experts.

Mods - Kleemann ECU, long tube headers and racing cats, K&N filters

Results here: scan.pdf

Useful improvement on stock 360 bhp. Unless there was a problem with the load cell calibration, no reason to suspect the measurement.

Wasn't keen on the absence of any safety management (beyond a set of ear muffs)..

They didn't give you a graph? Without it, you can't really tell anything but peak.

btw, thumbsup on your license

YouTube- AMG SLK on Dyno-pull 1 and 2
It's been a while since I last read a dyno sheet. Is measuring the power at 125 MPH normal? I'm used to seeing the RPM instead of the MPH. I'm no expert.

If this is calculated crank HP with the modes stated; it would be correct.
If it is showing rear wheel HP; No way in hell without a blower!

Hey Mo, actually the numbers are close to yours, and the MPH indicates that they used the wrong gear.
In fifth gear (1:1) it should show about 160MPH @ max RPM

That's why I'm asking. This was my first dyno experience.

I was in 5th gear. Read the sheet - The measurement was at 5263 RPM and 125ish mph not max RPM

I noticed thank you, 410 is a nice power for our small cars.

I stand corrected.
That would put give you 160MPH @ 6736rpm

Here are my numbers with similar mods.

I thought 416 at the wheels was high. 416 at the crank, weather compensated makes more sense.

The next time I am near the shop I will stop in and get the graph and any other reports he has.

Kompressor in the spring? Maybe.

that's why we need a graph. "Crank" is calculated unless you pull the motor out. That's an estimated number. Didn't these guys give you a graph like this:
