nice photography, those are some nice rolling shots. Those AMG brake calipers looks huge. That's a start of good things to come, it starts out small, before you know it, it'll be a huge event.

I am in awe. Excelent images. Still shooting with your D50? I sure wish I could work mine like that.

Thanks everyone! I, and I'm sure CJ and RC, really appreciate the kind words. We'll try to keep it up. I'm working on getting us and maybe more together on a track. I think it would be quite impressive to have 3-6 SLK's representing on Thunderhill or Infineon.

It was fun taking those pics. I'd like to say it was all skill but it really comes down to the equipment. I just got a new lens and I'm happy with the results so far.

PS VitaminT,
I upgraded from the D50 to the D80. I actually reduce the size to 6Mp from the possible 10Mp quality. The quality is largely due to my new 18-200 VR lens. Image stabilization is key with moving shots. I was able to use a shutter speed of 150 which is pretty slow considering I'm in a moving car. That makes for some nice pics especially the wheels with that motion blur.

Next time, we plan to have a better background... maybe the ocean, or a windy road.

Man a buddy of mine has a D80 and said that to him it is more "vivid" than his D50 was. This is really making me want to upgrade. As you know I have had the 18-200 for some time but have problems getting the colors to really pop. Always looks flat...either faded or not contrasty enough for my taste. I imagine the D80+18-200 was a nice jump for you. Plus the D80 has wireless commander for my sb600.

Great work.

Count me in, if it's not too much having another Silver 55 rolling with you- especially @ a track.

Great work.
I don't think it's the camera that is making the biggest difference. I've gotten some great results from the D50 too. Example: all my garage pics are from the D50. Get yourself a circular polarizer for your lens. That will boost some color. In addition, I use Photoshop Elements $99. It's an easy program to master. All my pics get a quick crop, auto level and auto contrast. The D80 is nice, but again, I don't think that's the driving force behind the color.

Absolutely! I would love for you to join us. The more the merrier. Also, just another plus. I rig my car with 3 camcorders for the track. I can get some great videos of all of us together!

Haha. I know what you mean. I can't say I was the first with any of my mods/upgrades. I would see another member's car and think, "I need one of those."
