Chasing a phantom

There is a black R170 somewhere around here. Spotted the car twice in as many days. See it several times over the previous few months. Always going the opposite direction, top up. I would have done a U-turn to follow if it had been safe to do so. I have seen the car on post several times, so the owner might be stationed here.

I might need to park off the side of the main post road and wait/watch.

British terms I find useful.

OTS - Open two seater (top is completely inside/unseen when down). SLKs and XK120 OTS are good examples.

DHC - Drop head coupe (top is visible when down, a la a traditional convertible). XK120 DHC and most American convertibles.

FHC - Fixed head coupe. A hard top car. Top doesn't move.
