First Coice Auto Greenville, SC

Drove a 380SL the other day and spotted this in the garage at the dealer. The mechanic said some circuit board related to the starter had to be replaced. He said the part costs $900.

And BTW the lot owner is obviously a greedy dried up vulture who really knows how to make friends. I would never buy a car from him. Our conversation went something like this:
R: Are there tecords of a timing chain replacement on the 235k car?
D: No, but it doesn't need it. You don't have to replace those.
R: Well that's the first thing I would do to this car.
D: I've sold cars for XX years and never had that done. It doesn't need it (raising his voice noticeably)
R: look, I'm not going to argue the point with you.

By that time we were both sufficiently agitated, but I drove the 78 dinosaur anyway. Way too many issues-no clutch, at least ten inches of "dead" play in steering wheel, rough idle. All doable things but not on my watch. Next....
