Cupertino, Dark Silver, exhaust in middle

I saw a dark silver SLK this evening, at the intersection of Steven's Creek and Randy Lane. I only saw it from the back, next lane over. It just had SLK on the left, no indication if it was a 280 or 350, no AMG marking on the right. I didn't recognize the exhaust too. They were two tips, circular and in the middle of the bumper, and center of the car, just like what you find on a Boxter. It looked like it had a carbon fiber type diffuser under it. I tried to reach for my camera but I was too late to snap a photo.

This is how the exhaust looked like, only that the bottom was a diffuser with a single fin between the tips.

Has anyone seen such a exhaust and diffuser on an SLK before?

Don't know who, but chances are, a "successful" Apple employee.

My first impression was that it was 2012 as the interior did look lighter, maybe with the pano or magicsky roof? I could not tell if it was R171 or R172 from the modified back. It was an awesome looking SLK, I should have chased that driver down to get more details. =)

Yes! That was what I saw! The exhaust seemed higher, I remember thinking that it would be a hazard trying to load/unload stuff and avoid getting burnt by the exhaust tips.

Could have been a 171, I couldn't see the nose from where I was.

FYI, the link to the mod can be found here. Thanks to cbre31 for the lead to the link.
