Who's Monstrous Red Kleeman 55 Is This?

I never spotted it as such but I've seen videos of this SLK on youtube and boy what a sound.

Just wondering if this is perhaps a silent member on here or if anyone knows who this is?

Nope not the Black Series, It's a custom job with Custom Fenders on the Facelift 55 with a custom Rear Diffuser. Not everyone may agree with the looks but it sure sounds the part

(horrible noise (except at the very end) in the vid below so make sure your speakers aren't turned up too high - warning)

It sounds great, but not sure about the tacky bodywork or the hood scoop.

I have to say, the NACA scoup on the front buldge is one of the most elegant ones I have seen done.

I didnt think there was a Black series SLK? 600 HP in an SLK would have to make that a 200 mph car yes?

Here you have some shots of a SLK BlackSeries that MB Stuttgart presented at the 10 year anniversary meeting with SLKRoadster Club in Arnstadt last year. There are aprox. 40 of them on the road.
The one on the pic's was a track car for Asia Cup that was converted to a road car by MB just for that weekend.
It's a nice car with lots of carbon and 400 HP stock, but it ain't a convertible

SLK created the Black Series!

Sully, the SLK Black Series was the first Black Series....

It came about after a very wealthy Japanese man ordered 25+ custom SLK55's with fixed carbon fiber roofs to make his very own racing series. After creating them, and the buzz they got, AMG found out there would be a market for more hard core fair.

SLK created the Black Series!

Hello,

My name is Dominique from XCLUSIVE MOTORSPORTS in Spain.
Sorry for my english, it s not my first language.....

I saw your interes for the SLK from another mercedes forum.

Let me introduce you the car :

it s a brand new 09 SLK 55 AMG
I import Klemann in Spain so i wanted to do a show car with all the Kleemann engine products.

I put a Kleemann supercharger , headers, metalic converters, exhaust line in 2 x 76 mm, camshafts, ECU.....We are close 600 hp
I m preparing forged pistons, cylinders heads with bigger valves, new compressor air intake, throtle body, new air intake line , new ECU and more boost to have between 750 and 800 hp. The engine will be finish for september/october

I pased 250 hours to make the body....
I wanted something like the SL 65 AMG so i make my own body ; everything is in steel, no fiberglass in this car.

i put you some pictures of the precess :

Brakes are 390mm with 8 pistons calipers on the front, 365 mm with 4 pistons calipers on the back
Suspension is ajustable H&R
Wheels are 8.5 x 20 and 11 x 20 with 305.25.20 (20" is obligatory for the front brakes, 19 " is too small)

0-60 mph in 3.7 s
top speed : more than 200 mph

The car is incredible to drive, but will be much more is september with 200 hp more.

best regards from spain

Your car is pure madness, I could appreciate all the work that goes into it, 800hp??? on a small car, are you trying to find the quickest way to kill yourself? j/k. Good job, thanks for sharing.

You better increase the strength of the tranny - the current 7G won't handle 700 Hp, let alone 800 Hp. Just a friendly heads up.

I'm likin' the hood. Good job on all the bodywork - that took some time.

Dominique,
The front fenders are AWESOME!!
Totally like SL 65 Black!! They should have this option in the factory as well!!
Did you challege any other supercars like Ferrari ,Lamborghini,Porsche?
I have a kleeman set as well , never had the oppertunity to test against the big boys.
Only fun so far , was a 2008 Audi R8 V8.
I SMOKED IT!!
Keep up the good work!

I've been going back and forth on the diffuser - I'm not 100% convinced on the way it "hangs" out from the rear, and the Piecha is too busy for me.
