Question Continental ExtremeContact DWS or General G-MAX AS-03 tires?

Hey guys, I need to get all-season tires soon to prepare for winter and I plan on getting some 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear wheels at the same time. The recommended rear tire was 255/30-19 but there was no all-season tire available so I'm going with 265/30-19 rear (and 225/35-19 front). The only 2 all-season tires available are the Continental ExtremeContact DWS and General G-MAX AS-03 tires. I'm leaning towards the General tires because they are cheaper and appear to have good ratings and reviews. Any thoughts or suggestions? 2005 SLK55 is lowered on Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks with SPC camber kit in the rear.

I'm on my second set of Conti DWS. I run them year around in North Carolina. I love these tires and they handle and run as well as the factory Conti's. I get 40K miles out of the fronts and 30K out of the rears. The warranty at Discount Tire paid almost half of the second set since they are 50,000 mile tires. They have sold me and are the only tires I will run, Until Continental discontinues them for a better model, that is.

Absolutely beautiful car!!! I would consider resting that beast in the winter and buying a good used truck.

I went to the DWS about 35,000 miles back. Best Z rated tire I have ever owned. Ride is very good and very low noise. Handling is very good but I don't track the car. Mine are 18".
Replaced the rears after about 23,000 miles, at over 35,000 the fronts still show all "DWS" markers.
I have used several brands of Z rated tires on 2 SLK's an SL500 and on Porsche 944T, always found the noise very annoying until I used these.

My 2010 SLK 350 Sports Pkg, which looks identical to your car, will be getting a set of Michlein A/S 3s. The sizes will be 225/40/18 and 245/35/18.

I now have these tires on my 2013 BMW 135i, and I can emphatically say they are the best tire ever!

For more assurance, you might check Consumer Reports April 2014, page 24.

Good observation! Just some 19" AMG replicas. I'm waiting for some ebay wheel center caps to arrive before installing the wheels.
