slk r170 stereo Green/white wire?

I am about to change my stereo and have read all of the thread and have a pretty good idea of what i'm doing. Problem is that I can't find anyone who can tell me the function of the Green wire with white stripe on the car end of the harness. Various diagrams either have it empty or state "unknown/unused" which isn't much help. One site referencing a later model suggested it might be linked to the vario roof being prevented from opening when the car is in motion. Since it plugs into the original Audio 10 then it must serve a function! Caqn anyone enlighten me?

I'm pretty sure this cable is GAL - volume control depending on vehicle speed.

My schematic shows the DG/WT going from the amplifier (Bose) to the Body Control Module. I wonder if that is a phone mute line ?

slk r170 stereo Green/white wire?

I had similar thoughts along the wayabout the Gal but this is what I have worked out from the mirial of circuits displayed on forums and google:

spd vol cont 12V Constant Dimmer Chassis Gnd
Yel/Grn Red/Grn Grey/Blu Brn

Grn/Wht Blank Blu/Wht Pnk/Grn
?????? Blank Amp Power Up 12V Acc

As the car did not have a factory phone installation I discounted it being a mute control.

If you can work out the pin that was used in the plug that may be easier.

Attached is a simple list of pins and their functions for Connector A

Hope this helps
