USB Outlet Replaced Cigarette Lighter Outlet

I recently refinished the interior of my SLK320. As long as the console was removed I took the opportunity to replace the stock cigarette lighter socket with a dual position USB charger outlet.

I'm very pleased with the clean looking results, and the location is ideal for ease of access.





Just in case I would need/like to use a traditional cigarette light-type socket I added one. It connects to the same wiring as the USB charger and was routed into the center console storage.




Here is the USB charger I used. The stock hole had to be enlarge slightly to allow installation of the new device:

What are those 2 buttons in the centre console?

Good question. The car is new to me, and I can't find these buttons mentioned in the owners manual.

They are in the owner's manual
one is for sos roadside assistance
the other is for information service if you pay for it through teleaid

Yes...it is definitely there...my mistake was expecting a picture/diagram like the manual has for all the other controls. I looked through the manual several times and went skimmed right over it.
