H&R springs, installed.

Just finished installing a set of H&R springs and things went well for a DIY in the garage. Fronts were pretty straight forward using the Mercedes coil spring tool but had to drop lower control arm for the rear's because the tool simply would not compress enough to get the job done. Finally got all things buttoned up and had a nice test drive. Ride is stiffer for sure! This leads me to this question; with a 1.5 drop, using # 3 pads up front and # 1 pads in the rear, which shock will work best for this set up?

Hey, I've been on my H&R springs for about a year. I also noticed the stiffness of the ride and was thinking about changing my shocks out.
I've heard that Koni Sport shocks are a good shock to go to after lowering on the H&R springs and what i was probably planning to do for my suspension

Thanks, what's your ride height like? I sort of had hoped that the car would settle down, "lower" after a while but this is the final look. I added the 18" slk 250 wheels from a 2014 model. I love the wheels but I just wish it was a bit lower. I have to change the # 3 pads up front to # 1 pads but I'll do that when a add new shocks. You got pictures of your car, if you don't mind sharing. Thanks again!

So currently I'm on 18in wheels as well as the H&R springs. I'm on size 1 pads in the front and i believe 2 in the rear (i never changed them out and i believe it comes on size 2).
So here is how my car is sitting now, My wheels have stretched tires though. Either way i'm not rubbing anywhere.

I actually really like the 2014 wheels on the R170, almost ended up doing that actually.
Anyways, here are some pictures.

The wheels look really good. Were they a straight swap? I thought I remembered that the R172 uses different bolts or whatever? It looks like you were able to fit them just fine.

it looks like you would need something small, 5mm or 10mm, from there. you can call ESM.com and they'll be able to help you order the correct length lugs. they even sell spacers too i believe. i've worked with them before for ordering lugs and spacers, they're very knowledgeable and will definitely be able to help
