Question Trailer lights connector installation

Hi everybody!

I recently installed a Curt Trailer Hitch on my SLK320(2001). BTW, I cannot recommend it enough! A great addition to your R170.
Now I want to make a proper connector for the tail lights. So I bought CURT 56146 Wiring Taillight Converter. That is all great, but I ran into a problem: Where do I find a positive battery connect in the trunk? Can I connect to a fuse box under the rooftop pump? Does anyone have a wiring diagram for it?
Also, if someone has a tail lights trunk wiring diagram, I would greatly appreciate that!

>Danilka I'm doing the same receiver hitch and Curt lighting package to my 2001 SLK 320. Did you ever figure out where to tap into the stop/tail/turn lights? Bob H.

If you have SmartTop, power to the pump is not dependant upon the ignition being ON
So it might be of use.
It should have large current capacity to run the pump. But worth checking what size fuse protects it still

Please let us all know how you go.

It's a bit fuzzy at this point, but I believe I got it from the hydraulic pump somewhere. I haven't had an issue with it, even while powering trailer lights and opening the roof at the same time. Here is a link to the instructions I filmed during the process. Never got around to editing them though. https://photos.app.goo.gl/19vkKstQpQU6koAn8
