Crossfire wheels on your SLK?

Has anyone tried Crossfire wheels on your SLK? They are 18" and a half inch wider at each corner. Mark

Perhaps someone will jump in with a hard Yea/Na. However if you check the basic wheel specs, like; bolt pattern, stud size, width(you say 1/2"), inner diameters(to sure they fit over the brakes), and offset. Remember the SLK uses different wheels/tires for the front and rear, but I think that is not an absolute hard law. However, you need to be really sure the wheel/tire combo you select properly fits., front and rear. A bit of work on the spec side and measurement comparisons should get you where need to be. Good Luck, if it works out please post some pics.

i have not specifically done crossfire wheels on my SLK, but i have had numerous different wheels on my car. as stated by steve, just make sure the bolt pattern is the same, and that the inner diameter of the new wheels fits over your brakes, and you should be good. ive had 18*9.5 wheels, and i currently have 16*9 wheels. the biggest thing to take into account when you're changing your wheels from stock is tire size, and wheel offset.

FRONT:
18x7.5"
5x112
ET 35 (offset)
225/40/18
66.5

REAR:
19x9"
5x112
ET 22 (offset)
255/35/19
66.5

I'm still not sure these are correct numbers so will try to collaborate them. Yep, seems an 8" wheel would be a tough fit on an SLK but I have not yet quit, need the car on a lift. I would also stay 17". I did not know the Crossfire's were 19/18, too expensive for the tires, less likely to fit.
American Racing makes their original Torq Thrusts in a 17" diameter but no offset and rear spacing is 5". I don't know our back spacing. Next week I am taking the TOYO's off and saving, putting on cheap Sumitomo HRT Z II's, yes a set of II's. Less than $400. shipped. I need to put attention(CASH) into another boost project now so cheap tires to buy some time. I will be able to get the back spacings and maybe get a look at where there is any room to go 8" and 9" wide in 17" diameter.
Can you guys check your SLK's to see if the fender lips are rolled on your cars. On mine the rear fenders starting at the plastic lower fender and working towards the front, about 6" to the left of center my fender lips are rolled which creates more room for wider tires. Fronts are also rolled like this but not sure of the coordinates. Sure would like to know if somebody rolled mine. Mark

Mine is a 2012, 172 model, 350, fully stock. The rear fenders wells are fully rolled inwards, to give as much space as possible (my guess) the front fender wells are partially 'rolled in', about a 45 degree slope for about a Cm, or so.

oh i forgot to mention, i have my rear fenders professionally rolled, and my front fenders rolled and pulled. i had a set of the 18" AMG monoblock wheels on my car, with the rear 275/35 tires. granted i was only on lowering springs at the time, but even still, that was a tight fit

I like the look of thee stock wheels and found some on ebay that are chromed. A $1200. deposit is required but my wheels are in great shape except on wheel has 2 small gouges at the rim's edge. A bit of work and they should be fine. The chrome wheels are just $747. shipped, unfortunately we have to ship our stock wheels back, could be pricey but perhaps LA Wheels can get us their price?
