1) Kwalitie?

2) No it will not void your warranty, ElmScan 5 is a OBD tool that can't be used to modify the cars on-board electronics in any way, it only provides you with the ability to see stored fault codes.

3) We use the Star Diagnostic System

No worries on the writing mate, no problem at all.

With servicing you don't have to take the car to a Mercedes dealer and you can do the work yourself using quality parts (Mercedes approved) but you normally have to prove that quality parts where used and the service was carried out on time, this can be difficult so what i would suggest to you is that you let the dealer service the car and if you decide you would like to change the oil or something before the next service is due then use quality parts or fluids and keep the receipts.

If what your used to from a technical point of view is a 190 then the SLK is a different world, the Elmscan device will let you see any faults that have been logged by the engine providing they are faults that can effect the emissions, any faults logged by other systems will not be accessible to you.

A Star Diagnostic System costs in the region of Ł20k GPB (for a Compact3W) and is only available to dealers or workshops that can prove they service Mercedes-Benz vehicles for a living, as a private individual you would not be eligible.
