How can you tell if the steering wheel is leather?

I'm not sure if my steering wheel is leather or a good imitation. It feels a bit slippery when cold but maybe I'm expecting too much. The inside of the rim is stitched with some sort of thread and the wheel rim looks like leather but then so does a lot of the trim and I know that it's plastic. How can I tell?

I used to work for MB in Stuttgart germany.
Its 110% leather.
Germans don't f around with fake **** and thats another reason MB produces and makes stuff in germany by germans.Saying - Mercedes Benz, by germans for germans,Stuttgart folks so,its only made for them by them ;-)

Unlike some U.S. cars...I have witness the jeep liberty and dodge nitro seats production in Michigan and Ohio, where its put on and is sold as leather and they are not,and are made in Mexico, which the costumer does not know about...but its being sold as real pure leather seats.
