I pulled trigger on SLK55

Based on advise here I went for a low mile SLK55 over the 350. I'll post a pic when I get the car. Can't wait. Only option I wish it had was Xenon, it had everything else. Dealer will add IPod kit. Are there any after market blue tooth suggestions? I only need to be able to answer the phone and use the integrated mic and speakers. Dialing I can do on the phone. Thanks in advance.

I don't know, but I would think adding the Xenons might not be that bad to do.

Congratulations. I too am deciding between a 350 (facelift) and a 55 (pre-facelift)...

I thought Xenon's come standard on a 350 and 55?

I also just purchased, and am interested in the bluetooth. The dealer said it is pre-wired, and needs to be installed at $490 US in Mass (USA). Anyone have info on the bluetooth abilities, and if that cost is crazy or not? Thanks! PS Congrats to you - I know better than anyone right now what it's like to have just bought an SLK55

The one I got does not have a pre-wired phone so the 500.00 factory plug in will not be an option. I looked around and there is one made in GA by EIS that appears to do what I need one to do and more. No idea what the final cost would be and I doubt I'll install it myself. Has anyone done the EIS mod?

IF you already have the wiring and the connector is in the arm rest, don't bother to have someone "install" it. It is just a matter of buying the "puck", plugging it in and following the instructions to have your phone and the puck say hi to each other. Of course, I don't know what the puck costs nowadays. I would expect $200 or $300, but maybe it is $400 and the extra money is to have the guy install it. But it only takes a few minutes.

Look in that arm rest and make sure you don't have the connector. In the past, there were also issues about whether the noise cancellation microphones were installed or not. I wouldn't bother with those at first and see if you are happy about how it works before asking for the mics.
