Brrrrr!

Having just done a Trip of 100 miles with a temperature of approx 6c deg,I spotted seven rag/tin top cars with the roof down and guess what 4 of them were Mercs. Is it a Mercedes thing?
What’s the lowest temp you have driven with the roof down.?
SWMBO won’t even consider it below 16c deg.

It is ill advised to lower the top below the recommended temp. (see manual).

However, once the car is warmed up I have yet to find a temp that is uncomfortable.
Watching 4x4s going the opposite way giving the wker sign is a hoot.
Me in a fleece, them in full blown snow gear, woolly hat and gloves.

As long as it is dry I'm happy to drop the top.

There's a minimum recommended temperature to drop the top?

I learn something new every day!

However, once the car is warmed up I have yet to find a temp that is uncomfortable.

I've had the top down at -2c and been toasty. I figured that's what the heated seats, airscarf, and heater were provided for.

Always makes me laugh that!

Me too Myk.

Absolutely. Warm the car up then drop the top. I'm astonished how much heat you can get into the cockpit from these cars - and how quickly. It's pretty easy to stay warm in an SLK.

The testing of the brakes I carried out today was all top-down. Temperature varied from 1.5°C to 5°C on the journey (even a short blast down the M23 at 70mph). I was the only convertible I saw with the top down. I didn't even notice the expressions on other drivers' faces - I was too busy enjoying myself.

My SLK55 lacks an airscarf. However, I just finished an errand at 0 C and was perfectly comfortable until I was stopped at a light and had to turn the heat down.
