SLK230 Mystery hose and passenger side leak

While checking my heater fan motor last fall, I noticed a black plastic, flexible hose near the heater box on the passenger side underdash. One end seems to be connected somewhere on the firewall, while the other end is not connected. Looks like some sort of drain tube, but I cannot find a place to connect it. I would appreciate any and all suggestions
It is driving me crazy!
Many Thanks!
