Would you do it all over again?

over the last 4 weeks i drove anything on Wheels the Audi TT the Boxter the Cayman the Bmw Z4/3 the R171 and R172 a 2012 Peterbilt Long Nose. I got the Itch 2 get something new in the Garage....

I even went for made in America like the Corvette Z06 Camereo and Mustang.

Some of the Cars have been awesome some of it i went no way......

Why would you spent $$$ on that.

We all love our R 170/171/172 every new Modell comes with Ooh and Aahs and and and.

We never can agree on Color Mods and Models and what Slk is the Best.

4 me i tried 2 kill that itch over the last 4 weeks i tried 2 buy something new and better.... I can,t my 99 R170 gave me such great Service over the last 14 month i did not spent a Dime on Slk Problems. Yep she is abit old just like my Betty. A Ding here a Imperfection there.

But i love the old Girl a Instrument Cluster with Analog Read out a Din mounted Radio with Analog Knobs for the A/c and Heat a Seat Heater that does not set the R170 on Fire....

My R170 is outdated so is my Irish Car Bomb but i like my Comfort Zone. The Irish Car Bomb makes the best Pan Cakes in her old Sweat Pants including Holes in the Pants on a Sunday Morning and my World is A ok.

Her Sweat Pants look like my Hood on the R170..... You can see the Primer.

Buying a new Slk is just like a Blind Date you never know what you end up with Problems like Mother in Law a fake Phone Number and Female Drama etc etc

Would i do it all over buying an R170? Hell yes but this Time around a gonna go 4 an R170 Amg.

What better Way to get awesome Pan Cakes on a Sunday Morning in Stiletto Heels served with fresh Fruits in a very light and tight Lingerie.

I come home 2 tell her about all them awesome new Cars i drove, yes I am the Kid in the Store, her answer is always the same .....

Just go out find the best R170 4 the love off..... find an R 170 Amg with low Miles in the right Color with the Specs that make you happy......
Remember you have not been in the Dog House 4 Month....

Ghee no wonder the Bond between me and the Sofa and Hounds is abit of the Rocker.

Would i do it again??? Hell Yes my R170 gave me great Smiles per Miles...

Would i do it again asking my my Betty out after many Years living together Hell Year.

What better Way 2 me in the Dog House watching a Movie with Steve Mc Queen and the and the Hounds snoring next 2 me.

Did i tell you she took a Bmw 4 a Test Drive

I haven't a single regret with the SLK thus far though it has been a short time. Unless something major happens with it I'm very satisfied with this being my daily.

I had an '04 Audi TT that caught fire while I was driving it

Some of my previous dailies have been so difficult to live with they were hardly worth being considered a daily driver. This car has been comfortable, quiet, and I don't have to worry about anything exploding! I think I realized I'm finally starting to change my attitude when I got in the car the other day and thought, "Man..a heated steering wheel would be nice." as I've always had a more Lotus-esque frame of mind when it came to performance and even my dailies.

With that said..I do kinda miss having cars that tried to kill you ever so often.

What a great question.....

I had a camero (sucked in the snow), the C5 vette (insurance was expensive at the time), drove many new mustangs (was on the fence of getting one) and then i tried the z370 and the GTR. The z370 and GTR was too rough of a ride for us. My wife was actually the one that pointed me to Mercedes while leaving the nissan dealership.

Saying all that, i love the r171 body style, but to answer your question, if i had to redo this trip all over again, i'd go for the SLK55. It reminds me of the fishtank syndrome, no matter what size tank you bought, it wasnt big enough.

I get a headache when I read your narrative's. Reply, yes I do it again and again. The older the cars the better, I like my SLK55 and I cant see another 2 seater replacing it.

I still enjoy driving our R171 and even though I'm warming to the idea of an R172 one day, I'm in no rush. The SLK is a great car.

The idea is to keep your cars in great shape and collect more of them until you've got 'em stashed in your barn and grandma's garage and your wife looses track of exactly how many rides you own!
