Is my SLK pre-wired for phone? Datacard?

Hello,

I've recently purchased a very nice SLK 280. Although it came with Owners Manuals, Service Manuals and Audio 20 user manual, I haven't got an MB Data Card.

I'd like to buy a cradle for my mobile phone, as the car appears to have been fitted with a modile "shoe" in the tray above the arm rest locker, but I don't know if the car was a "pre-wired" version. I think it may be, but a lot of the cradles available say something like "Fits Vehicles - (Code - 388, 386)) with built-in factory handsfree with UHI".

I think a data card would tell me if my card has these options fitted. Can someone please help me with the decode?

The VIN is: WDB1714542F141441.

Thanks in advance,

Rick

If you have the connector in the glovebox lid, then you do have 'phone pre-wiring'. The best step forward now is to buy a 'Bluetooth puck' from somewhere like comandonline.co.uk

Thanks Woolly, sounds like a plan!

I'll take a look at the website and try to work out the best course. Probably the first thing I should do is to upgrade my phone, THEN get the puck. D'you ever get the feeling that you just get one piece of the puzzle in place, then someone changes things over night??!!

Thanks for the good advice,

Cheers,

Rick

Don't know enough about the AsiaPAC cars to say with certainty, but given that your datacard says prewire, and you have the shoe, I'm pretty confident all you need now is the bluetooth puck!

Thank you so much for sending this data along.

I can now go ahead and search for that cradle with a lot more confidence.

What a brilliant site this is......

Many thanks,

Rick
