Just a little idea for MB parts

Hiya guys and gals,

Just a little idea we had that i would like to run by you, i have been getting quite a few requests for part numbers and info and i am totally happy to provide it don't get me wrong and i am perfectly fine with continuing to do so but since most of you then go to the dealer and pay recommended retail price most of the time even more than that if we where to get MB OEM parts at trade price's provide them to you at retail or slightly below and the site gets the difference to help pay its costs so you get a better deal then you do at the dealership and the site gets a boost each time you buy something.

Would that be acceptable to all of you and we are talking all parts here from bulbs and control modules to fenders and head gaskets so not a limited choice and we could get supply's in both the US and UK so no international shipping costs (only a very small number of things are not available in both countries and of course we could then ship international for those items if need be).

If you know the PN#'s great but i can get any numbers you don't have and can check to make sure they are 100% compatible with your particular car so there wont be any foul up's, the only things we would not be able to order are the Engine ECU, Ignition Lock, The keys and the emergency blade and tumbler unit since they require loads of your ID's to be submitted and it would not be worth the hassle to do.

You would need to use credit card to make payment for the goods but that can all be done using the SLKWorld store thats totally safe so no problem there, this is just a trail thing to start with and if you could use the store contact us form for any stuff you want that would be great.

Cheers,
Dan

Great idea Dan.

Consumables like wiper blades, brake pads, windshield washer concentrate or solution "S" (as MB calls it here in the US) will probably be popular.

Well hopefully it will be popular enough mate just a little extra cash for the site you know.

Like i said 99.9% of the stuff can be ordered so you could even re-do your interior if you decided we can get the stuff it's that complete i just hope it helps SLKWorld out.

For small items (under $100) i'd PREFER to order through slkworld and pay even a little bit more than dealer, but over $100, i'd end up price shopping...(do i get points for being honest?) Maybe give us a flat markup to cover Dan's services and the website costs once the item goes over $100, instead of retail? I think it's a good idea we start with maintenance items.

Slightly off topic, speaking of maintenance stuff, Bill T, can SLKworld have a business arrangement with Zaino? This way, I'll just order from SLKWorld. We do have to make sure it does not interfere with some distributors already in Europe.

A possibility Dan:

try to make a deal with one big Mercedes Dealer like the Gallier did. Get a discount and you dont have to take higher prices than the dealer. The commission you take for SLKworld.

Think of the OEM windscreen. In Germany you pay about 340,00 Euro + shipment, we get it for 289,00 +. If some parts are cheaper in Germany, Ill help you to get the part from our dealer. So everybody gets help. The customers (members) and SLKworld.

Thanks for that mate much appreciated, I work for a dealership myself so what i intend to do is get the parts at trade price and charge slightly below recommended retail for the more expensive stuff say 100 and over and retail price for the cheaper stuff so the site site always gets about the same amount of money and you guys get as good a price you would get from a dealer or even cheaper than you could get from a dealer so it wont cost you any more and then the site can have the difference between the trade price and the price we sell for.

I dont see how it could hurt the site, minus adding bandwidth.

Dan, I cant feel anymore comfortable buying any parts from you. As long as the deal is still an attractive deal after all the shipping oversea. Wish we all live close enough to come out and chill every night..... haha

Well there's no need to worry about anything mate the payment is all secure via this site and no overseas shipping to worry about this is a venture between me and Bill so it stops the need to ship 99% of the parts overseas.

Sure is mate,

No different to what we do already we buy from MB and sell to the customer.

While the shop wont gain anything from it like we do when selling to the customer we wont lose anything either so it has no effect on the bottom line at the end of the day. And my boss is not only in my family he is a a mega enthusiast so thinks its a great idea.
