Joining the SLK Family Soon~

I have just sold my CLK240, and will be getting a SLK280 with sports package in mid-April.

I have been struggling between a 280 and a 350... both of them are having the same options, and the only differences are the engine and the price (US$9000)... At the end I decided to get a 280 and the money that I save can be used for modifying it later~

Looking forward to see my new toy~

Welcome watson to the family, I think you'll love the 280, there isn't any place to use all that power anyway since you live in HK.

981 Boxster S
06' SLK 350, Iridium/Ash all pkgs. 6-spd, 19" DCR. (Gone but not forgotten)

Thank you guys!

I have also test drove a ML350, but driving a SLK is having much more fun!

Also, it's funny in Hong Kong that there's no demo SLK for you to test drive, people just buy them after having a look in the showroom. Fortunately, there's a 2nd-hand car show yesterday, so that the sales person can let me test drive a SLK350.

Welcome Watson, through Holmes in the car and drive it over for our North Carolina/Virginia mountain get together. Only kiddin, that would be a long drive. Enjoy your car, and this forum. There are many people here well versed in the SLK and all are willing to help with advice and ideas. Dan is top of the line for his tech stuff and sources, ask and you shall recieve (receive) get what you need.

Watson, Congradulations in advance; The SLK is a fun car to drive regardless of the options or engine. Nothing can beat the experience of a nice open top summer cruising.

i also had same dilemma as yourself watson, i was torn between 280 and 350, but opted for 280 purely over cost, as money i saved i put into wheels lowering etc. enjoy your car and welcome to the forum!
another tick for the 280 boys/girls

It's because I am getting the SLK which is manufactured in Feb 07. When I placed my order few days ago, it is on its way to Hong Kong already!

in other words gofer, they have to make your car, as watsons was lucky enough where his option list was already built, and unsold.

Hi watsons

The differences between 280 and 350 are not only the engine and the price, the 350 has 17" wheels (instead of 16") a better brake system and sports suspension. In France the price difference between both is 5 000€

Umm... that would be the Flintstone SLK from Bedrock Mercedes Benz.

Welcome to the forum watsons!! The time will pass quickly. Well, probably not, but I thought I'd say it anyway.
