Where do you park?

In a public garage do you try to distance your car from others?

Garage
somewhere close now, I've done experiments and no matter how far you park, someone is going to park right next to you, now I find the most convenient (close) parking spot.

At my office, I horse traded reserved spots three times to get a spot at the end of the garage where no car owns the only adjacent spot. Just my boss's Porsche Boxster in front of me. Elsewhere, I park far away, or give extra to the valets to keep it close and up front.

I'd still park away from the masses. I would also park next to a curb, column, or something to keep the people who cut through parking lots from getting too close. I'm always concerned when anyone parks close to me.

Buy a roll of yellow "Crime scene" tapes and surround your parking space with it.

LOL, great pictures!

Your SL55 is ***y, It would look way better with SL65 F1 fron bumper and SL65 Wheels. I just park the closest parking space and hope that nothings happens to my car.

Shoot! Can't be too picky here for parking. If you see an open spot, you need to grab it before someone else does. However, there is generally more respect for personal property here.

Why park? Leave home drive it and park it back at home. Get in the daily driver and go to the store. If you must park put a large picture of a RATTLESNAKE in the side windows with a sign saying:"LOST IN THIS CAR TODAY, IF YOU SEE IT, CAL 555-555-5555" or 911 for Snake Bite Treatment. When you come out for your car bet it will be OK.

Always the first parking spot at work... the one where no one can park on my right (driveway), and where I take the bet the dude next to me drives with no passenger (worked so far)... Otherwise, valet park, even at home!

Parking

Always far away from the entrance. I like to walk for the exercise and fresh air anyway. I prefer to park in the far right space to avoid a driver opening the door into my car. Of course, the risk of a passenger opening the door into my driver's side door still exists. I also figure most cars are not carrying a passenger. But again, passengers might be more likely to open their door into the neighboring car?

I am prepared for a ding if the offending vehicle is still parked next to mine when discovered. When the driver returns to his car, he will find his door riddled with dime sized holes produced by a welding hammer I carry in my glovebox. I will have a ding but he will need at least one new door panel. Can you say: "Swiss cheese?"
