Hi Folks,

I live in Brisbane Australia, and I am trying to purchase a Mercedes Part, Part Number A171 267 00 46 Rocker Switches (Paddle Shift), for my SLK55 AMG.

parts.com in the USA list them for $93.00, Australian dealers want to charge me $600.00 which I refuse to pay. However parts.com wont ship out of the US.

Would someone in the US get them shipped to them, then re-ship them to me? I can pay you immediately via PAYPAL, if I put around $130.00 in your account that should cover re-ship fees.

If anyone can do this for me, please PM me, or drop me an email to nic@nicwilson.com

cheers

Nic - MSRP from Mercedes is only $139 for the part, $105 wholesale. Have you checked with an Aussie dealer?

Nic, I just tried to find that on parts.com, and the reply was "No parts found". Are you sure it 's parts.com?

Thanks to all that responded, the parts are on the way to me from parts.com thanks to a member. Total cost was $93 + shipping.

BTW to find the part on parts.com you have to remove the A on the beginning.

Thanks again.

Great! I was going to ask what the local MB parts dep't was going to charge.

As sad as this sounds its true, for a long time now car companies rip Australians off on prices, and especially cars. This same product that cost me $93.00 + shipping at the local Benz dealer was going to cost $585.00 AU, as our dollar is at parity with the US dollar, the cost as you can see is beyond a joke.

I import stuff all the time and customs is a non-issue here in Oz, as long as the cost is under $1000 it never gets stopped at all, over that value it can be delayed as over that its taxable.

I have already fitted the 2010 version steering wheel, and once the new paddles come I will do a post on fitting it, I notice other posts contain "did this for safety", "just in case I did this", "I waited an hour", etc. I researched exactly what was needed and then performed the task without problem, and I will post these experiences for other members.
