Calling Oregon SLK owners

Greetings, all!

So, I've noticed that there appear to be half a dozen or so members of this forum who are Oregonians, mostly in the Portland metro area. Some are probably MBCA members as well (I am), but would there be interest in forming an Oregon SLK group on this forum? The Northwest Pacific SLK group is mostly Seattle folks, and their get-togethers tend to be well to the north of here so I'm sure many of us don't regularly attend those.

If we had our own group listed here, we could plan some events and probably piggyback some onto Portland Section MBCA events as well. I'm thinking that an initial get-together might be done at the Cars & Coffee in Tigard on Sequoia Parkway some Saturday morning. Any takers?

For the moderators, how many of us are required to form a group?

This is great! It's very easy to create a new group/club.

Click "Community" on the menu bar then drop down to 'Social Groups' and click. This brings up all the groups/clubs on the forum.

Scroll down the page and on the left is 'Create a new group' just click and go for it.

After that, PM all the members from whatever area you want to target, copy the link and ask them to join.

This gives the members of the group a place where they can update each other about meets and events in your area.

You can add pictures of the meets and when new members from your area join the forum you can include the link in your welcome!

You can view our Florida SLK Group that Jazzman43 set up for us...he'll help you out!

Thanks so much for promoting the forum and congrats on your club/group!

Benz Lover,

Welcome to SLKWorld.com: The #1 Mercedes-Benz SLK Forum from Valrico, Florida!

Please update your location/vehicle (model and year) in your profile as it helps the members answer your questions which usually are based on that information if you haven’t. Help us help you.
‘Usercp’ at the top left of page, then ‘edit your details’ on the left side, ‘additional information’ near the bottom, edit your ‘location’ and ‘vehicle’. Info in your ‘garage’ does not update your ‘profile.

Don’t be shy. Post an introduction in the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section, if you haven’t already. http://www.slkworld.com/new-members-introduce-yourself-here/

Some tips to make your visit here more enjoyable:
If you haven’t, please use the 'search' feature at the top right of the page for your questions as they have probably been asked before. Remember, ‘Search’ is your friend.
In addition, if you haven’t, please post your question in the appropriate discussion forum for a quicker response and only once. Be patient and a knowledgeable member will address your question.
If you wish to become PM (Private Message) capable, you need 15 posts. To get those 15 posts quickly, just go to the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section and welcome enough new members to obtain your needed posts to PM.
Want to post a picture? Start a new thread or make a post, click ‘edit’, click on the ‘paper clip’ or ‘advanced’ and/or ‘manage attachments’ then ‘choose file’ then ‘upload’ and ‘submit’! If Iphone pics, you need to rename any additional pics as Iphone names its pics all the same, image.jpg.
Want to ‘like’ or thank’ someone’s comments? Use the ‘like’ button to the right or the ‘Thanks’ button, bottom right of any post you like. This saves you having to comment.
New members should be aware that the 'New Posts' link next to the 'Search' link top right of the info bar is a great way to see all of the posts you have missed since you were on the forum last. Remember to click 'mark forums read' under ‘quick links’ when you leave.
Post your vin in the Vehicle Datacard Request section to get a datacard (options on your car) free.
Also vote or enter our Ride of the Month competition: http://www.slkworld.com/rotm-submissions-voting/

Thank you
Jeff

Beekster, I am always ready for a meet and/or drive. I make the drive North several times a year for meets with the SLK NW Group and some of their events bring them down our way as well. I am also meeting up with the Cal. groups as well once a year (last year the Redwoods this year Tahoe), so I think it would be nice for a meet in my own back yard.

OK everybody, I've created Beaver State SLKs under the Community, Social Groups tab. I think that I sent out a bunch of invitations to folks who've been active here at any time since the start of 2013. I say "I think" because I can be frightfully inept at computer things. So if you don't see an invite, just go to the group itself and join! Let's see how many of us there are, and where we are, and plan on a meet at the Tigard Cars & Coffee in the next few weeks. This coming Saturday morning might give us a dry opportunity, but might also be a little too short-notice.

I'm also the Portland Section MBCA coordinator for the Portland Historic Races club corral, so if you're interested in that event get in touch.

I'll put it out there to meet for Cars & Coffee in Tigard on May 10th, weather permitting (Sunhilde no longer goes outside in the rain). I'll post a thread in the group forum as well. Looks like I'll be out of town visiting the wife's family on May 2-4, and the 25th is her birthday and Memorial Day weekend so that's not a good choice. How many of us can we get to line up in the parking lot?
