lower grille replacement slk230

hi all,

i have the lower central grille missing from my 1998 slk 230. i can replace this with an original colour coded part, 82.00 from MB, but i wondered if there were any aftermarket solutions to this? i am thinking of a stainless mesh insert, anyone an ideas for this please?

p.s. new foglamp to be fitted this afternoon, bracket broken!!! 52.00 original from MB, not bad!!!!!!

I don't think there are any after market parts for what you need, i do know some R170 guys on another forum made their own. That will be my next project and it will also increase air flow to the intercooler.

I've got some aftermarked mesh on mine. It comes in sheets on 120 x 30 cm black or alu.
Go for the ones with the biggest holes - your intercooler needs all the air it can get.

Seems like it's mostly glued on.
It sits tight,- I've done about 5000 km on German Autobahn, mostly in 190km/h +, and no probs
