Anyone in London with Star/DAS

Hi All,

I'm hoping to get a few things coded / enabled on my R171.442, such as rain sensing wipers / cornering fogs (might already be on) / both rear fogs (might also already be on) and flash break lights on panic breaking. Whats the best way of going about it? is there some special handshake needed to commune with the main dealer gods or is it best to find an independent who know's what they are doing?

Also, where do people order their parts from most often? I need a few little things like the plastic trim on the inside of the boot lid, I'm struggling to find the part number and confirm it is the same for mine and then actually find it anywhere.

Thanks in advance for all replies,

Scott

Not sure off the top of my head.

But @Delucas is in Kent and may be able to suggest.

Dont think flashing break light can be enabled via coding .
You req rain sensor fitted first to work then coded
Cornering fogs dont know if can be enabled but anything is possible .

You need to go to a SLK meet up

Rear brake flashing is now an MOT fail in UK.

There are several oem systems.

Probably worded to allow them.

But we had a thread on this a while back.

Not heard yet officially if its a new vosa req for mot ....
But its only activated under hard braking etc
And some new models the hazzards are activated also .

All to do with safety aspects .
But will an mot tester brake really hard and fast doing an mot test no !
After a day of testing circa 15 cars im sure hed have a foot injury and after a whole week of checking out if you have one fitted .

He’d suffer joint injurys .

Whether it is found, or not, a purchaser needs to be aware.

I still have mine on order

I will come to a meet up, as long as it's not too far from London!

As for what I want to add, I found a thread on here somewhere with a list of things that can be added, cornering fogs and duel rear fogs, flashing breaks and rain sensing wipers were all on the list. A separate thread indicated that the hardware for the wipers was fitted to all 171's and only enabled if it was purchased.

I've got a bigger lost of things I need to do now anyway so some of this might take a back seat, but given they should all be coding I figured they might be easy things to start with.
