Dumping config?

Is there a way of dumping complete car config with DAS/Star? I want to do some off-line checks to diagnose why rain sensor doesn't work.

I was going to post this on a new thread, but if you have an Android device, and a OBD2 Bluetooth adapter (they are under $20) there is a program called "Carly". It will do a complete dump of every item in the car and what it reports. The free version is limited, but you do a dump, and email it to them, and they reply back with it decoded. Or you can flip through the screens and read it all yourself. It is amazing the amount of info. Also with their own adapter, you can actually PUSH info from your phone onto the MFD in the car, weather, txt messages, appointments...
I may purchase it.

Looks very useful. Which Bluetooth adapter did you use? Was it a specific make or just a generic one?

Some generic one I got cheap. I got it for use with "Torque" which is really cool. I like playing with the H.U.D. mode and seeing my speed reflected on the windshield. The "Push Notifications" part of Carly look really cool. I think you need the expensive Gen 2 adapter that they sell for it and purchase a license for Carly, maybe $80 total, I might bite on that, looks too cool not to.

Did you buy a license or just the free version?

License. Well worth it. I use a generic Code reader - not the one they sell.

I do find the interface a bit slow or buggy, but it does everything I want in a code reader including resetting. In fairness my android tablet isn't the fastest, and I'm not using their reader ... so I don't truly know where the "peculiarities" I've encountered are coming from.

Bottom line: the pluses far outweigh the negatives.

Thanks for this. On a Facelift '170 I am not going to need or be able to use push, so I'll just get a ELM 327 compatible one and see what the free apps can give me.

Cheers.

Thanks! I have to say it looks very impressive and much more detailed than I expected. But I need more - i..e I need to see if rain sensor has been enabled in OCP. Faults/events are not enough.

I'll try can dig through the screens and do a capture, but it does query each item and report if present,

I "think" that is the deal that is rain sensor and bi-xenon control

Torque is great, it does everything like that very well. Plus some of the cheap ELM327 deals come with a CD of apps, and there is an APK (Android app install) for Torque that is full version, for free...
