Cars & Coffee Meet

RSP Motorsports will be hosting a cars and coffee meet at their location on the east side on London on Sunday June 11th between 8am and 11am. RSP is an independent Service Centre and Performance Tuning Centre specializing in Mercedes, Porsche, BMW and other exotic sports cars. Last year Chris, (Chelzee), and I attended their August meet and had an excellent time. There were many, many cars on display and as well, short seminars were presented on dyno testing and tuning. If you viist their website (RSP-Motorsports) you can view picture galleries of previous meets.

I think it will be a good opportunity for our forum members who reside in the GTA and southwest to get together and show our cars and eat free donuts! But seriously, it's an opportunity to line our SLK's up alongside some pretty exotic automobiles. I'm going! If you are interested please post a reply and we'll make arrangements to arrive together.

Thanks, Ken

Clearly I haven't attended A meet in Canada.

But the experience of first timers who attend meets in the UK, especially this type
is very positive.

If you're thinking about going, stop thinking and go.

I'll be very surprised if you don't end up making meets a regular thing.
You have nothing to lose and a whole new circle of friends to meet.

Cool

Good to go.. pending the possibility of any labour disruption at work.

For those members interested in going that live in and around the east side of Toronto, perhaps we could arrange to meet up bright an early and pick up those living in the City and then join up with others along the way.

I think there are a few of us living out in the Durham Region?

PM me if you have any thoughts.

It's even earlier for you than me

Maybe if you can guessitmate at what time you're going to be at James Snow Pkwy (Milton)?

Use Mapquest with your address and Walmart address at 1280 Steeles Ave E, Milton, ON L9T 6R1 for exactness (walmart is at J.S.Pkwy and Steeles (5 seconds N of 401). Text me on the 19th with approx arrival time.

I can just park on the side of the westbound on-ramp and wait and observe. You won't have to leave the highway.

Wink

Wow is all I can say. Four of us met up for this get together.

Left to right: @rangerken Ken , @CHELZEE Chris , @Busybuyer888 Ken, and @LeonardoDaBenz Len

Not much with guessing participation but I would say maybe 200 cars. Never saw so many Lambos and Ferraris in one place. Value? Again hard to say but +$50-60 million worth.

What a great time we (and my wife Lorraine) had. I'd say there were maybe 6-7 SLK's (that includes our 4).

Chris had left a stack of "calling cards" in his baby but no one took any (not surprising seeing as so few SLKs that were there).

For those S Ontario folks who missed out, make sure you go to the June 25'th party In Kitchener.

You won't be sorry

PS: Ken here is the paint thread we were talking about https://www.slkworld.com/slk-r172-gen...nt-issues.html

AND the transmission reset method https://www.slkworld.com/general-disc...-learning.html

What a great day, as Len pointed out out the number of quality of the cars on display was fantastic. The coffee was good as were the donuts and who can complain about 90 degree weather? Hope to see more members out to the meet on June 25 in Kitchener.

I couldn't make it as I had to rip out the walls of the motorhome to repair a leak
When we were done we went for a ride in the Mercedes and got about 5 miles out of town turned a corner and kicked it down and the check engine light came on and it felt like it was running on three cylinders so we turned around and drove it back home
I'm bringing it down to RSP for a Thursday appointment and an oil change and have it checked over wish I had made it I'll catch the next one

Seems like 'engine lights' were the theme this weekend....mine came on during our convoy on the 401 while driving in ECO mode (yes saving the environment) - threw itself out of ECO mode and began to not sound too good. After a restart the light cleared and everything seemed to be fine for the rest of the trip. Going to get checked out at the dealer tomorrow...probably just a sensor or something. Plenty of help on the side of the road though, Ken, Ken and Len
