Question 2007 specs

Hello. I just wanted to ask if anybody knows where I can get a 2007 SLK brochure? If not, do you know if it identical to the 2008 Brochure (which I already have)?
I have some specific questions that I need answered in regards to certain features of the 2007 SLK55 AMG. I picked the '07 model because of the paddle shifters.
1) Is Caspian blue (like Fishtailns had) and the deep red that -1- has available for that year?
2) Does the car need pre-wiring for the phone to have blue tooth capacity? If so, how can you tell if it has it?
3) Would anything pre-wired be required to install a back-up camera?

Thanks for any advice/comments!

You should be aware you can retro-fit the paddles to any on the 55's, so you are not really limited to the '07. Figure about $800 US to do it the "easy but expensive" way.

1] Yes, along with "Storm Red Metallic", the color that I lust after on Don's car.

2] Yes. You have to pull the datacard on the car, or look for the puck connection in the armrest. I don't know enough about the CA spec cars, but the telematics in these cars can vary from country to country..

3] I'm not aware that the SLK COMAND will take an external video feed without serious modification. I'm actually not even sure if it's at all possible on the US or CA models.

And here you go.

[Mods - Dan - I didn't see anything on here that made me think this brochure was not free to distribute in un-modified format. Feel free to remove it if you feel otherwise!!]

Would this be at the dealer? Wouldn't you have to get a whole new wheel?

1] Yes, along with "Storm Red Metallic", the color that I lust after on Don's car.

Excellent! All I ever see on Autotrader is black and silver, so I was starting to wonder.

I will be buying in the US, so I can probably just talk to a local dealer to find out what to look for. Are there stickers on the door or hood listing options?

That is too bad as I have become used to a back-up camera in my present car.

And here you go.

Thank you very much for the brochure! You are a wealth of information.

No problems - in order :

1] Yes, you end up replacing the steering wheel less the airbag assembly.

2] I spent months looking for either a Capri or Storm '350 with the options I wanted (basically COMAND, XENON, and AirScarf). I ended up with a black one. Good luck in your search!

3] Your mileage is going to vary - you want to make sure you have it in writing that the car is pre-wired, and in a perfect world, already has a puck. Datacard is the easiest way to figure that out.

4] Yeah, I know the feeling - I really would have liked at least parktronic, but that was even harder to find...

The Brochure is the Canadian one, but a brief look over it seems that the colors are the same for the US and CA, so you should be good to go. Options may be different, I didn't spend a whole lot of time reading that one (no plans to move to Kanuckistan! ;-))

Best of luck in your search, and remember that good winter tires need to figure into your budget if you want to drive it before things thaw out. I have the US 2007 Brochure as well, but it's too big to attach to a post. Pop me a PM with an email address is you want it..

For video I noticed while researching the iTronics BT/iPod device that a video option with or without back-up camera is also available. You can check out Cartronics site and of course the store here sells the BT/iPod device - that's where I just got mine.
