Runnning gear compatibility

I'm looking at a r171 slk 55 in need of a bit of mechanical work.

The rear right wheel appears to have moved forward in the wheel arch about and inch,it looks like it may be suspension arms rather than bodywork.

Are suspension parts from the other r171 series the same?

Anything I can look for to make sure this is not a complete write off in need of a serious amount of body straigtening?

Post up the VIN for it, then I can check suspension part numbers for you.

Make sure the roof operates correctly - if it's been rear-ended, that would be the first sign of trouble. Also check all the shut-lines look uniform and look for typical re-spray signs - overspray on or under seals, that type of thing.

Thanks wooly

Car is still in 'bent' condition. Not repaired as yet. So respray not a problem.
Good idea about shut lines.
