Kleemanization in progress, Baby monster is getting beastly!

For my car's 2nd year anniversary, I've decided to do it justice by adding the Kleemann headers so it completes the N/A setup. For those who dont know, I have already added some interesting modifications and infact I used to be the only one with the Kleemann 200 cell primary catalytics matched with the Supersprint/Carlsson x pipe but lately a member of our slk forum who I suggested went with this route and is very satisfied with the results on his SLK55 Black series which is much lighter than mine and has bucket seats.

I added an ecu upgrade and has a unrestricted topspeed, a pair of green filters which add about 9hp to the crank which a fellow slkworld member achieved on his bone stock SLK55, Kleemann 200 cell 3" primary catalytics, Supersprint/carlsson x pipe which brings the total to about 395hp but with the headers I am looking at another 30hp or 20hp and 20tq increase bringing the total crank hp towards 425 maximum hp in a N/A setup.

By removing the heavy oem resonator with the SS/Carlsson x pipe I removed around 20kg and in total with the spare tyre which is also been removed the boot the weight loss is good for 45-50kg in total.

I hope to have a Kleemann car by early to mid april for my Cars 2nd year anniversary, what a great wait to enjoy it by having more power to boot.

For now I will leave you with my custom exhaust mix and match that was liked by many when I first ventured in to this project,

Yay, new headers.

You will like them mate.

Can i make an aesthetics suggestion? Lose the dealer ID badge, her ass is too small to accommodate it.

Nice congrats Mo, does this place have a dyno, really like to know the exact numbers after the mod.

Well headers are about 20 horses average and they are the most restrictive part of the setup, so with Mo's X pipe and cats he's looking maybe 395-400.

Not bad at all.

Yeah, but unfortunatley when the time is right to purchase there seems to be a lack of supply on this item which means I am back orderd for around 2 weeks to a month basically.

Ynot, the place doesnt have a dyno and since I didnt dyno my car at stock baseline I think there is no advantage of having ago at it because of no oem data or evidence to weight in the gains.

Actually a dealers badge is good, it shows that the car is purchased new and I am the first owner rather than the people who are importing second hands cars. As a matter of fact, I spoke to the german tech at the dealer and they said they will install it for me and it doesnt even void the warranty; I am glad I ran into him over at Mbworld, he is in his 20's and is the service supervisor.

You mad me feel extremely happy and re-assured me of my purchase, I want the car to be blazing fast but we all know cant happen without the Supercharger and cams. I think the headers might do me justice, I'll just have to wait and see.

I hope it pleases me and the gains are significant, then again 20hp gains minimum and 20tq is something that I assure you the butt dyno will FEEL.

I'm glad i could help mate, just stating the facts really.

When your prepared to put money into these mod's like you are gains will come its all about spending the money carefully.

Thats a very interesting setup with the badge, its kinda opposite over here with people wanting to remove any sort of dealer badge.

Yeah I see were you are going and that is quiet common all over europe even with the model designation de-badge thing, at the end of the day the Mocha 55 I hope will sound even louder with the headers and it will be quiet unique and slightly morepowerful compared to the Kleemann N/A setup than mine with the Kleemann parts, Green filters and etc changes I've done.

so is the dealer paying you to have that badge on to advertise? or you are so vain you need to demonstrate you got your car new? What you are saying doesn't make any sense with regards to the badge.

Refusing to dyno without a baseline is ridiculous. Why would you claim 425 hp then? OEM cars do vary, but within a vary narrow range, especially NA cars. Are you afraid you won't see 425 hp on the dyno?

Again, i'm not trying to insult you, just pointing out the problems with your explanation. Perhaps it's a matter of language?

I'm a tad confused now in post #6 are we talking about the badge?

If so then I'd expect a dealer to stick a badge on for free and since its only stick on it would have no effect on warranty, but in fairness the tech is going to say what his boss tells him to say isn't he.

You have other ways of verifying the age and history of the car, i take it you have a registration document that must be kept accurate and the dealer will have a history on the car so you certainly don't need a badge to prove your owner #1.

That being said its your call at the end of the day, we can just voice our thoughts about matters.

If we where talking about the headers they will void the exhaust warranty, no matter what the tech says.

Mate, Its not a problem at all and you are speaking your mind and its okay by me. I see your points and they are pretty valid, but I am now convinced about the dyno run so what dyno's do you recomend a Mustang Dyno, Dyno jet or something else ?

According to the dealership:

since the Headers isnt a mechanical part it deosnt void the engine, whilst if I install something like a Supercharger that would def void it because it needs to be tunned properly so that it doesnt run lean so that it lasts for a long time.

Yeah engine and exhaust are kinda different here.

I guess if Merc wanted they could argue that changing the headers has changed the dynamics in the cylinder during the exhaust phase but i can't see them doing that.

They would argue that any failure in the exhaust (not that much can go wrong apart from the O2 sensors) is a result of the headers, but again if i where in your shoes i would also fit the headers.

Dan its not a problem, they will hold any liability to the problems that would occur if there are any. He said the ecu will probably be okay and adapt to the increased power.

I personally like Dynojet, but a lot of people prefer Mustang because the results are more stable.
