Talking Reasons I did not like the slk amg

Althought I always wanted a AMG..

I dont like naturally asperated engines..

I like the turbo sound and torque feel.. Dont really care for the super loud exhaust..

Only if the slk was a v8 turbo then that would be more appealing.

Im not a fan of muscle cars. I like those compact engines with turbos

Maybe I'm tired, but I don't follow.

You don't like the AMG because it hasn't got a turbo?
You're not a fan of muscle cars?

Wouldn't you consider an AMG with turbo a muscle car?

And you can supercharge the AMG, albeit at a price.

Check out the Kleeman thread.

Question

So I assume you are going to fit a Turbo to your SLK?
I look forward to reading about it when you get it fitted.
Although there will be a slight delay in power delivery compared to Supercharging.

Have you ever driven an SLK 55? If so did you not feel the torque?

I don't follow. You came on the AMG section of the forum to tell us you don't like naturally aspirated engines, but you "always wanted an AMG." Were you not aware that all R171 SLKs that are AMGs ARE naturally aspirated?

Clearly you are a discriminating driver. And now look, AMG has responded. Check out the new AMG GT convertible. V8, twin turbo 510hp "Bam"

But if the GT is too flashy or too costly or it's lack of folding hard top puts you off (it did me), the go drive the SLK55. You just might find out you like n/a engines more than you think. I know it does not have that many horses but those horses are larger than average. Folks sometimes forget that the AMG horses are larger than std horses. They have giant hairy hoves that shake the earth when they walk, and large stainless "cahones" that strike sparks when they drag the ground.

My small, underpowered SLK55 smoked the C6 Corvette convertible at a charity 1/8mi drag race this past spring much to the surprise of the vette jockey who knew he had more horses than me, .
