Greetings from the home of the Steelers and Penquins. I bought a 2008 SLK a few years back. 24000 miles and in great shape. I'm looking to take care of a SRS notification. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome from Eureka, IL! My first try would be to hook up an ODBII scanner and reset all the codes. Although this probably won't work on the SRS codes. From what I'm told, that's usually a dealer diagnostic tool. I've heard disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes or so then reconnecting will sometimes clear these codes. But if there is an underlying issue with a sensor then it will undoubtedly remain. Air bags are tricky. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and pay the dealer. Good luck!

Hi and welcome from central Florida.

Please update your location/vehicle (model and year) in your profile as it helps the members answer your questions which usually are based on that information.

Welcome from New York.

I had the SRS message as well, it turned out that the seat belt sensor was bad. Best to go to a mechanic for SRS issues.
