Default Personalize your SLK

Congratulations to all that got in on our wonderful promotions over the holidays either through this site or on ebay! Please remember to send us photos of your roadster with our product installed so that we may add you to our galleries. Standard or custom both.

As a new site supporter we've created a special discount code for this forums members for anyone that would like to have our products. This code will give you 10% off of our products when ordering from our site located at www.windrestrictor.com

Code = Preferred10

For those of you who have not yet seen our quality of work here are some photos. We use 3/8" abrasion resistant acrylic material with flame polished edges. Also, we use only real laser etching for those who want designs on your Windrestrictor. Products can be ordered clear, laser etched, laser etched and illuminated or multi color laser etching. Please contact us at Sales@windrestrictor.com for additional information regarding this rare product.

We offer standard etchings or you can custom design your own...

Our illumination colors are Red, Blue, Green, Yellow and White. Also, you can get etched only with no illumination.

We have designed a special, powder coated bracket that allows for mounting on the 171 SLK

And of course, an example of some custom work....

Anything is possible with our custom etching.

Happy New Year to everyone!

For anyone considering the windrestrictor I've had one for 18 months or so and love it.

I've never hooked up the lights on mine and have AMG and the MB insignia engraved.

I have tremendous number of compliments on the look and it works very well.

There has been some recent inquiries as to mounting for the SL.

I figured I would take this opportunity to let everyone know that we have never mounted one of our products on an SL model, nor do we think that it would work. We've had numerous inquiries and we are contemplating producing one for this model but as of right now we do not offer anything.

Our products are made for both the 170 & the 171 SLK models.

Congratulations to our newest customers from the forum. Please post photos

I like the look of the clear with the Merc emblem. However I have a question. You mention quote "We have designed a special, powder coated bracket that allows for mounting on the 171 SLK" How easy is it to fit the bracket and then the restrictor. Whats involved tools, duration etc?

There is no drilling required, or modifications that need to be made to your roadster. The bracket takes out all of the work. Simply remove your speaker (console) in the center, mount the bracket and put it back on. Then it's as simple as 2 screws with covers. Very simple but sturdy mounting method.

Please call us if you need assistance.

Can't wait to see photos!

Post pics of it. Would like to compare.

Is it tilted back to keep reflections from dash lights reflecting in your rear view mirror at night?

I also have the mesh net windscreen. That's no good at all to me at all.

To each their own.

Default Windrestrictor GREAT

I am extremely pleased with my windrestrictor and am glad I purchased it , customized, instead of a standard dealer part.

Pics are included here and I have had the windscreen for a significant period of time.

As a side note, I think it important to support those who support us and find it RUDE to insult an item you have no experience with.

I think that has to do with their tele aid feature.

We currently have dealerships that prefer ours over the mesh. It's simply a matter of preference. I respect your oppinion of our product. However, if you were to see one in person I think you would have a different oppinion.

Default Windscreens - OOPS!!

Geez-z Bill Wish I had know that a week ago. Went through the posts here and didn't find much. Purchased the OEM windscreen for a very PRETTY penny - do like the way it install, except for the 3+ inches of viewing the mounts take up at the roll bars. The gauge reflection doesn't seem to be much of a problem. Being in No. Calif. where summer temps are typically 90+ it will get a good work out - hope it lasts longer than a year. As it is now, the weather hits 46degrees, no rain, the top is down w/airscarf on.

SO-o-o guys should I return it and purchase the Windrestricter product???

I agree with Gene, White SLK if I was going to say the respond with the same reply as you did towards the sponsors product at least I should have some insight towards the products build, quality, material and experience for a while.

I do have the OEM Windscreen and it came with the car, but if It didn't I would be more than happy getting the one that Windrestictor provides, becuase you see at the end of the day I will be happy knowing the money I spent will be going to cover the sites costs thorough sponsorship annual or monthly fees and we members can continue still be privileged to use this wonderful forum in contacting with our generous, reputable and very informative members over here to help us with problems and general questions with the SLK R171 and R170.

To break it down to you the more sponsors offering products through the SLKworld forum the less likely with the forum close and we cannot have our "active community" running.

PS, Do not judge a book by its cover and same thing applies to these the sponsors products.

I hate internet pissing contests *L*, but here's my .02 from what I've seen of both products. I own a Windrestrictor version, and while not installed yet (car is in winter storage) it seems like a quality piece to me and is exactly as advertised - no more no less. I've seen the MB version installed on another SLK and it too seems like a quality piece, but at almost 3 times the price, it honestly didn't seem worth it to me. The mesh works fine, but doesn't look all that great, so at a third of the price I went with this site's sponsor's product - helps SLKWorld and gives me a better looking SLK, both work for me.

As for selling (or buying) any old thing on the net, whether it be junk or otherwise, you don't have to do either just to support SLKWorld - all that's required is to step up to the plate and buy a premium membership.

Bill, I remember "RacerCub68" he was quiet disrespectful to me a couple of times and is very ignorant.

I remember when he was making fun of my religion due to our Fasting in Ramadan and how we would fast to be thankful, privileged and to feel and be reminded of the poor and unfortunate people; being a modest and respected member of this forum I just replied calmly and wasn't furious all about it.
