Default Spare leather?

Does anyone know if it is possible to get spare leather? My colour is powder blue.

I'd like to recover the handbrake handle to match my seats, just like the designo. It will give the interior a consistant look. It jars that we have coloured leather clad door handles but a black plastic handbrake handle?

Here's an example....

I was also contemplating covering the centre console, but that may be overkill. The black plastic flows nicely from the cacscade console through to the gear stick.

Richard - I'd think a good high quality furniture repair shop would be a good place to start...

I was wondering if MB have a warehouse with spare patches. Isn't there a rule that they have to hold spares for 10 years?

They hold it pre-fabricated, can't buy in roll's or patches.

You can buy the designo brake lever pre-covered if you want

Were the designo colours unique? Would I be able to get it in my powder blue? I guess I could go for black leather to match the gearstick surround (got a mental block on the correct word for that!)

Also, reading between the lines, it sounds like the cover is a "non servicable part", not a simple clip on/off.

The handbrake handle cover can be removed. It is a slide-and-clip type mechanism. It can be removed by pulling up at the rear part with curved fingers. Start at one side first and then the other. DO NOT LIFT ALL THE WAY UP, but just enough to release the hooks/tabs at the rear. Slide the loosened handbrake cover towards the rear. The front of the cover has a tab that slides into a slot at the front of the handbrake.

Once the cover is released, the black rubber part can be removed (it is glued) and replaced with the colored leather of your choice by a good leather shop if desired.

That's got me thinking.... go for black to match the gear stick gaiter (rememered that word!) ... or coloured to match the dooor handles and seat?

I guess black reinforces the flow along the centre console. Blue will mean it balances the door handles.

If I go for blue, should I also change the gear stick gaiter? I don't like that idea, it would be getting too cluttered.

The deciding factor is if I can get a good enough match to the existing. I'll have to ring around the auto upholsterers for advice. Going for black would solve that problem!

It works aesthetically both ways.
