Hi,
It seems Ultraleggera are probably not available in the right sizes at the moment.
HRE is too expensive for me for C20/21 in 19 inch.
Kicherer 19 inch are expensive but look good and are light I think.
Can anyone say-I have read OWL saying 12-13 kg for 19 inch -this is okay but not ultralight.
Kicherer said to me 11-12 kg.
Does anyone know exactly what the Black Series 19 inch alloysy weigh?
I thought it was 9.5 kg/10.5kg.
Maybe I should wait until they become available.

or the Monoblocks M40 M43?
They weigh around 9-10kg.
Thanks again guys for your help

Hi Alroumi,
Thanks very much for your help.
I think the C21 in black looks great on the silver SLK55.
Just the right level of aggression!
I will look into exact specs and prices.
Do you have any good contacts for HRE in Europe?

Alroumi/Dan,
Can you tell me what the offsets are for the Black Series 19 inchers?
THe HREs C21 would be:
front 8.5 X 19 ET30 with 235/35s
rear 9.5 X 19 ET34 with 265/30s
Sizes are therefore like Black Series but I still do not know if they would actually fit.
Would the wheel arches etc need modifying?

If you already have carlsson parts on your car, why not get their wheels? I know their 19'' ultralights are about 20lbs per corner, which is the lowest you'll find for 19's. Renntech Monolites are also 20lbs per corner. If you want something lighter than 20lbs per corner, the only solution is magnesium or carbon fiber wheels, which are 15-16lbs per corner.

On that site the silver 55 has a black "V8" fender emblem-

I wonder if there is a similar chrome one that you could order from MB- I like it!

Hi,
Addicted to Speed: I simply do not like the design of the 1/16 Ultralight from Carlsson having seen several SLK55s with them fitted.
The HRE C21 in black looks a whole lot better to my eyes but still damned expensive!
I will have a look at Renntech.
Generally it is important for me not to forget that we are talking about an SLK-1550kg not a lightweight sportscar so I do not want to go OTT with the wheels. I think carbon/magnesium would do little else than totally empty my bank account!
Nonetheless I want 19s and do not want to increase the total weight with tyres over the 18 inch AMG Styling III I have at the moment
Dan: As far as I know HRE alter the ET to what you need and those I quoted are exactly as fitted to the silver SLK with the V8 badge.
Thing is I need to be sure not just because of rubbing but also TÜV in Germany.

about $19 bucks on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/X2-V8...30089300QQrdZ1

grigio: Does it have to be HRE? DCR, DPE's, and iForged, all make similar wheels at half the cost. HRE's been around for awhile and is a known brand so they can charge a premium, I have friends who has HRE's and they all think my DCR's are HRE's until they saw the center cap. I would suggest the other brands, DCR is one-third of the cost for similar product.

Hi Ynot,
Do you have infos on these wheels?
Weights and prices for example?
As I said the weight is fairly important.
However if the look/price is right and the weight does not exceed say 10-11kg a corner then it could be interesting
The HRE C21 comes in at 8.5kg for 8.5X19 and 9.0kg for 9.5 X19 and looks just right for my taste.
Thanks for your help

www.dcrwheels.com, www.iforged.com, and www.dpengineering.cc, those wheels are all around 10-12 kilo's per wheel, depending on size. Price around $1000 per wheel, DCR is much cheaper. Good luck.

Just a heads up: someone is selling the same DCR wheels that Ynot has on mbworld.org for 2,500$ used w/ tires. I almost bought them but then decided to go with these SL65-style wheels:

Thats quiet a wheel for 8.5 kilos, but if what the SLK needs is weight reduction.

Removed the spare ?

Thanks Mohammed, I didn't know they were heavier. I may have to look for something similar from Oz. I'm just dreaming and planning ahead of time when the 55 is delivered, hopefully in August.
