SLK COMAND on eBay!

For some reasons I couldnt get the Comand as a factory option. Taxes in Turkey was rising in 2004 and I had to wait at least 2 months if I choose every option I want for SLK. so I ended up buying black/black SLK with the most options available here.

3 months ago I went to the dealer and said that I wanted to buy comand unit anh he told me "it will cost you over 3500 Euros but there is another way. My friend lives in Germany and he can help us out. It will cost you 2000 Euros and I am sure it will work %100 perfectly." I told him that I would think about it. It is nearly half of the factory price and it sounds nice.

2 weeks ago I started to search "comand" on ebay and I found 2 sellers. One in Lithuania and one in USA. Both of them excepts money transfer.

Both of them are Europian Comands and nearly same price. I am talking with the Lithuanian guy right now. But direct money transfer sounds like an unsafe money transaction to me. There is no guarantee for me there. What if he gets the money and never sends me comand?

Do you have any experience with these sellers?

From my ebay experience i would go with a seller that has the highest possible rating and positive feedback. in this case euro-customs seems to be the dependable one.

And they accept Personal Checks. Which means you have a slightly better chance in terms of claiming for issues.

The euro-customs seller also appears to be selling many high end car parts, another positive point.

Though i have not bought from either, if it was my choice... i would go with euro-customs... just seems safer to me.

Isn't it risky to send money directly to somebodies account? The seller refuses to pay back the money if there is something wrong. Besides that he can take the money and never send the comand...

Is there anyone retrofitted comand here?

Dang! Wished I could custom fit that into my SLK230. That would be cool to have in my r170!

Just a quick question.

Is your car wired for this?

Your going to need an audio gateway to go along with that and some serious wiring to go from an Audio X system to the COMAND

NoRegret4Life retrofitted the DVD Nav portion to his already equipped HK Command system. Supposebly, the 2005 SLK (USA version?) was equipped with the necessary factory wiring harness regardless if the DVD Nav was factory installed. Again, per information provided here before, the wiring harness was deleted from non factory equipped DVD Nav system 2006 SLKs. DansSLK can elaborate more. Before you purchase anything, determine EXACTLY what's required for the installation (parts and cost).

I dont need navigation, ıt doesnt work in Turkey. Can I connect Comand to my existing audio set up? Because the audio gateway you mentioned costs another 500 $. Anyway first I need the Comand and I need to get it cheap and working first

No you must have the audio gateway even without the nav subsystem the COMAND is simply the head unit it needs the Audio Gateway to perform all of the work.

The head unit has a MOST In, MOST Out, Wake, +12V and AUX connections only everything is passed to the AGW upto and including the audio itself as the amp is in the AGW

I bought the Kleemann Catalytics if you do remmber a topic about them through Money Transfer (Western Unioun).

You simply send the money to the Seller, and give him the 10digit code to get the money from western unioun.
If he doesnt do that in 4 days just reclaim your Money.

Dont worry its an easy procedure just tell him to give you a Tracking Number w/name of the courier.

But it is a bold mans job I think. I can not stop thinking what if the seller never sends the comand or if it is broken? He refuses to take back comand. What you have purchased is not an electronic unit but in my case buying the comand is not easy

Even Ebay Germany isn´t secure. Cash for delivery is the best to do. With the Western Union Bank transfer a lot of Germans lost their money.

If you really want to buy a Comand System I will ask my dealer for a nice price.

Of course I want one but I guess I will be needing audio gateway too. please ask for both of them. If the price is good I will be happy to buy it from your dealer...
