If you want a finished setup try searching on Ebay. They have them for around $100. Each side is a set of clustered LED bulbs. Can be connected in various ways to the car's lighting systems. As for the install. As far as i know, some of them need holes to be drilled into your sideskirts to mount the led pods, some have them as surfacemounted (Like mine)

| The Brabus sideskirts have optional LED's installed within them. They're like side strips. Personally, I think they look pretty nice. I got a price off an Internet site a while back and the number $ 1,100.00 comes to mind. Of course that's un-painted and un-installed. Never saw surface mounted LED's, but it sounds like it might look like a stick-on. Drilled holes would scare the hell out of me. But, that's just me. |

| This is what my surface mount setup looks like. They are actually white, not blue. just the way the camera colors came out. The surface mounted setup does not look like a stick on as you tuck the pods towards the inside of the car. you can not see them unless you get on your hands and knees to look under. Mine are also painted black to hide entirely. Each pod has 3 wide angle square leds. Old pic without HID foglights, and white led sidemarkers |

| Tungster has them on his car too I think. His shop in Florida would not share how they installed them but would do the same for my car for a mere $700. I passed...specially since I am in Texas and did not want to drive to Florida. I would be VERY interested in puddle lights that are non-intrusive on my car but that would be hidden and secure! Any ideas????? SLKman |

| hmmm tempting. Ive also been toying with the idea of getting a full led kit to hook up *white of course* to go on and off with the remotes. And so much for the rice aspect. |

Do you have the ambiant lighting package with the bulbs in the footwells? If you do, it will be real easy to do. If you like this setup, you will need a relay: Lights ON/OFF from Key Lock/Unlock Lights ON/OFF from Interior dome light switch Lights ON/OFF from doors Open/Close Since the puddle lights will be connected to the interior lighting of the car, if you adjust the delay off, it will adjust their timing too ![]() The install requires to peal away a few pannels, but you don't actually have to remove anything. Just a few bulbs/screws

| A standard 12v relay can be picked up at any automotive store. even gas stations should have them. You need the relay, and the harness(just a jack it plugs into with wires). should cost you a whole $5 As for the install. well its really not much trouble to guide you if you do choose to go down the road. So let me know. oh and the relay is for integrating the puddle lights with the ambiant lights. A little trick i figured out with the system |

| To make a long story short.........Mine are done with 4 white LED's drilled and coming out the bottom of the car. I have 4 lights on each side and if you look under the car all you see are the little LED's poking through the bottom. The LED's do not have a housing around them just the "Nipple like" LED's coming out the bottom. Heres some pictures. Sorry about the quality as I had to lay down and put the camera up under the car but it gives you the idea. The LED's are the little nipple looking things sticking out.

| Here is my experience with the puddle lights. I had a lot of work done at Brabus NA in Newport Beach, CA (the North American Headquarters). They tried to install the Brabus puddle lights on my car but could not completely conceal them on the AMG body kit. The technician didn't like it and refused to install it again. Peter Moeller - Brabus' Head Technician for NA - must give his seal of approval on every mod before they release it to the customer. He wouldn't do it. I actually never saw it. But they tried several different applications and just couldn't get it to their liking. Brabus has used my SLK in their print ads, on their website and in an upcoming article in Best Life Magazine. So they were careful about what they did. Give Matt Harold at Brabus NA a call - (949) 797-0177. He will give you the low down. Damn, I love the way those look on your cars. Makes me wish I had pushed harder to make Brabus install them. |
