Thanks all for attending the picnic and cruise. I laughed with the long line of cars, 5 missed the turn onto Lagu na canyon.

What did you guys make of that parade of 50+ cars on Santiago Canyon rd. There were a couple SLK in that group.

Thanks everyone for the great meet!

We had fantastic time (especially running through the industrial area! ). It was incredible seeing and hearing 10+ SLK's at full throttle and full song...and not just once...a few times. I wish I had a video of that part.

The 350's really impressed me being able to almost keep up with the 55's.

Ed, I hope your car is ok and that you got home safe.

On a side note...has anyone looked at their front bumper. I can't believe how many rock chips there are on my bumper. But it was all worth it!!

Can't wait til the next meet....

I’m sure sorry I missed it, but I could not get out of the ship yard until 1600 and it would have taking me two hours to get up there (and that would have been without stopping at my hotel to take a shower)

It was a great time and a true pleasure meeting some member that I had not yet met. Arno, we missed you, but I think a few people may have deposited some excess tire rubber on the street in your honor

Awesome day today! We had a great time meeting everyone and the drive through the industrial area was crazy. Edward, you definitely were there for the best stuff. Some pictures:

- The beach at Salt Creek.
- The beach.
- Barbecue.
- Love this color!
- The caravan snaking through OC.
- Hare Krishnas
- Edward's car in trouble.
- Edward's ride jacked up and under scrutiny.
- Santiago Canyon. Unfortunate that we were mostly stuck behind slow cars on this stretch.
- The final stop.

Hope to do it again some day soon.

I do believe we have that on video. If it's any good I'll post some screen caps, although posting the actual thing's probably not such a good idea.

Couple of car shots of AMG PL guest (CTCMike), all cars were actually washed and sparkling clean.

It is not easy keeping a 13-vehicle caravan moving in continuum as a single file through the busy streets of L a g u n a Beach, plus traffic lights. It was a good caravan considering.

That caravan was a weird mix but glad to see them.

Cyberdrakon (Edward and Kandy), I pray that both of you got home fine and the oil leak is from a minor and easily fixed cause.

Vidcaps from the drive today taken by Marcelle. Most of these are from a single 5 minute continuous shot that captures most of the industrial park action.

- SLKs. Duh!
- Kandy doing double V for Victory.
- Entering the industrial area.
- Pablo's 350.
- Left turn convoy.
- First sign of Edward's smoke. Shows more clearly in the moving video.
- Lining up for 3-lane red light.
- Green means GO!
- Another nice left turn with lots of cars.
- Shot through the rear-view mirror.

People that are interested in getting the full video, PM me.

Cha and I had a great time! The BBQ location was a very good choice. And the drive after gave us plenty of places to "not drive our SLK's (and C55 and CLK63) like they were Buicks"

It was great to see the SB/Solvang/Lompoc drive folks again, and really great to meet everyone else for the first time today.

Thanks for all the photo sharing in the posts, we will have a few to post soon (had a little download glitch tonight).

Ed: good luck with the Drakon...hope the leak is minor and quick and easy to resolve.

You stated "almost"

And Wes, Almost?

Hmmm...why do I get the feeling that I'll never live that statement down... hahahaha

uhhh..must have been a typo??

Tom, I figure that you would prefer to look at the rear end of my 55 as opposed to this one....

GOOD TIMES!!!!
