I agree with PropDr's assessment. Has the vehicle undergone some suspension change? i.e., lowering? Aftermarket wheels and spacers?
I would check on this AND a new set of tires on the affected axle. Your life and the lives of others depends upon the safe operation of the SLK. Be safe first.
