Default Exhaust Clip

I had a little extra time today so I figured I'd create a AV clip.

'06 SLK55 with green filters, resonator removed and X-pipe installed in its place. I took off a few times and just played around. Enjoy...

That sounds spectacular, It is really brutal and I enjoyed your video. Do you think there are differences between the sound of your setup and mine as it really sounds quiet close.

Thank you for sharing with us.

dsb; that exhaust is kicken big time!Tell me you don't have a big fat smile on your face everytime you get on the car! My car has been at my mechanic's for 7 weeks now [ will post up why when I get it back.] Just here in that video of your car is making nuts just wanting to get my car back. Totally awsome sound! Alroumi I listened to your clip of your car's exhaust and it to sounded awsome but since your car wasn't moving I don't think you can get a true gauge in sound comparison to dsb's. Just my opinion.

Thanks everyone for your compliments. I get a kick out of the exhaust and figured some of you would appreciate the clip... especially if you're contemplating an Xpipe.

Here's some answers to your questions...

I'll try to post a picture of the setup. It was attached to the tow hook using a Bogen ballmount. Very secure.

I'm quite lucky to live in an area with little congestion. Within a few miles, there's plenty of places to unleash the beast. That video is within a mile of my house.

That's a good question. I think it must be very close in sound. I would expect a slightly louder sound from your car due to the Kleeman cats. Your car should sound brutal after the headers. I just think you need to record it in motion like got_power55 suggests.

I dunno if it would set off alarms but maybe I need to head to the mall and give it a go. I also gun it in tunnels too! In fact I should make another clip. It's REAL loud then.

DSB, The Kleemann cats will be removed due to the Headers and its downpipes.

My next setup will run like this, Headers---Manifolds---secondary ( oem ) cats , x pipe and oem back boxes.

Your setup is identical to mine. Green filters, Magnaflow x-pipe in place of resonators and 19" wheels, TSW in my case. The video's I've posted from Texas World Speedway in Jan are recorded with a Sony blue tooth mic on the license plate. Identical sound. I noticed you used manual mode at least a couple of times. Also my choice. I loved the stock sound of the 55 but like this sound even more. Everyone at the track that you pass will comment on it. Nice vid.

Yeah, the Xpipe is a great mod especially for the price. I do get a lot of people asking about the car as I roar past pit row. There's not a lot of street legal cars with such an exhaust. It definitely gets attention.

Try being around 30 feet behind your car. In another thread, I mentioned another SLK55 with resonator delete rocking the city canyon walls (mt Wilson). Be careful of the sound police.

Very nice. Sounds wicked, even at idle. First thing I thought of was the old Steve McQueen movie, "Bullitt".

I was surprised the other day that the car didnt spin the wheels as much as I expected, who knows I've might mastered the skills of launching.

Yeah, I roll on the throttle. I rarely mash it unless I'm moving already in 3rd or 4th gear. Even then, I'll only do it for fun. With all this torque, it really isn't necessary.

The surprising thing is that I mashed it with the s-mode and shifting via gear knob, it shifted automatically at the precise point.
