Tslick (Tom) has the most practical mount I've seen. Here's the link: http://www.slkworld.com/general-disc...der-mount.html

you can try to creat a bracket which could connect or support your camera between the two roll bars. I hope that helps.

Tslick's is perfect in the 170. as we know, the 171 has a POS cup holder and i don't think Tom's method would work well. i believe that Brian (easty) was using a suction cup mount on his fender.

Wow that was awsome. I was going to suggest using a stickypod hung from the back window, but then thought about the fact that the vid would be upsidedown.

You might be able to use that home made solution provided with a bungy cord to hold it into the cup holder good.

I've used a couple variations of Tom's (Tslick) mount, and it works great! But I have a heavier camera now and it bounces around a little too much.

I just ordered Panavise's suction-cup mount. The reviews were pretty impressive and the price was well within reach. Even if it doesn't work as advertised, it was only $16+s/h.

Amazon.com: Panavise 809 CCTV Camera Window Mount: Camera & Photo

My research found a couple of places that sell it in store fronts there in the States.

Check out this site Mark:
http://www.stickypod.com/suction_cup_camera_mount.html

I just ordered the Sticky Cam Pro Pack - which can mount on the dash, the back deck or anywhere else smooth. I'll report back in a week or so how well it works.

The vacuum mount will work anywhere that you have smooth, flattish, shiny paintwork.

By the way Kevin, I probably forgot to tell you that I fold a piece of corrugated fiberboard and shove it into the opening under the cup holder. It stops the camera from bouncing and it acts as a damper.

Crude but good enough for me.

After not being able to find a suitable commercial mount, I built this one out of plywood, a 1.5" dowel, and 2mm black construction foam. It works great. I push the seat all the way down and forward and tilt the back enough to slip the mount into place. I then tilt the seat back to pin into position.

I assume you have drilled a hole thru the bottom and screw into the camera? How is the angle? Is this the same image we've seen in your track video?

Yep, the platform sticking out over the headrest has a hole for the attachment bolt. I would have shown it with the camera on it but I used it to take the pic. This is the mount I've used to take all the vids I've posted.

Very nice work. I have a Bogen window mount $100 that I use. I attach it to the front windshield. I might give your design a try.

It's a little scary we think the same Tom . . . I didn't mention it either, but I too have a folded piece of cardboard that I shove in the same place. . .
