Embarassing confession time - wind deflector

Yes I should have read deeper into every related post first.
My better half not impressed with the Air Guides on our new SLK so clever clogs thought he would get the OEM Fabric deflector.
Of course .. no slots in the roll bars for the upper pointy bits to engage********
Now proud owner of a useless mint fabric wind deflector... unless I am missing the b****** obvious?

Order the front halves of the rollbar covers. They aren't too expensive.

Formerly: AurŽ, black 2005 R171-350 w. AMG package, Akzentrot interior and almost full options.
Current: Metallic iridium silver 2012 R172-55 AMG with red accents, BMC airfilters, ECU tune, KW V3 coilovers, SS brake lines, rear cam, dash cam and almost full options.

Maybe if you're handy with a drill & a Dremel you could cut the slots.

After my last embarrassing mistake, would hate to compound the error ... any idea what part no, what their precise name is, or from where I could get them?
Thanks .. John.

Can't give you a part number (there is one part number in his attachment for a black one) but this might help you get started in a search Roll bar trims in matte black! or contact the original poster

its called a 'trim roll bar' and there is L and R:
(L) A1728600309 H44 and (R ) A1728600409 H44

41 EUR each in Europe: https://www.mercedes-originalteile.d...g-oxid-61.html

Obviously the dealer can supply but sometimes ebay can do wonders and scrap yards may also be a good find.

Caution: The numbers above are for the fronts that have the gap inserts for the wind deflector (the plastic frame with see through fabric in it). This would require the centre speaker cover containing two gaps for the deflector too! If yours doesn't have them:
A1726830030 or A1726830040 without parkings sensors (30 has color black '951', and 40 color black with '952' consult your datacard)
A1726830130 or A1726830140 with parking sensors (same colorcodeing)
etyu and WoZ53 like this.

Formerly: AurŽ, black 2005 R171-350 w. AMG package, Akzentrot interior and almost full options.
Current: Metallic iridium silver 2012 R172-55 AMG with red accents, BMC airfilters, ECU tune, KW V3 coilovers, SS brake lines, rear cam, dash cam and almost full options.

Thanks Guys,
I am going to have to tread very carefully here. Once bitten, twice shy. I do have the Parktronic on top of the central speaker grill that has the inserts for the feet of the wind deflector. I like the Aluminium finish of the roll over hoops and would not really like to lose them ...
Perhaps better to just get the US specced clear deflector and move my OEM one on instead...
Cheers .. John.
